Grateful Dead Hour no.996

Grateful Dead Hour by David Gans

Week of October 22, 2007

Continuing with the complete show of 6/27/84 Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia MD.

And as "filler," one of my favorite bands in the universe these last ten years or so: Donna the Buffalo, from upstate New York. A deep, deep groove, lots of spiritually positive songs by Tara Nevins and Jeb Puryear, and a warm and friendly following called "The Herd" that feels a lot like the ol' Deadhead crowd - what's not to love? These two tracks are from their then-new CD Life's a Ride; I still love Positive Friction (and particularly the songs "No Place Like the Right Time," "RIddle of the Universe," and "In Another World") best, but all their records are worth hearing and I highly recommend you hear 'em live!

Enjoy!
