Grateful Dead

Just like your favorite jam, things are going to get a bit funky on over the next week or so. Community accounts will be temporarily closed October 16th-17th and may be under further maintenance through October 22nd. But rest assured, we will be back up and better than ever shortly thereafter. Stay tuned! Thanks!

Grateful Dead Hour no.486

Grateful Dead Hour by David Gans

Week of January 12, 1988

Featuring a December 1997 interview with founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann. After a couple of years of laying low in Hawaii following the death of Jerry Garcia, he was back on the mainland with a band called Backbone.

Also: “Dark Star,” the Grateful Dead’s encore at the Greek Theater on 7/13/84. Some lucky attendees, myself included, saw a falling star in the sky above the band during the jam.
