Grateful Dead Hour no.340

Grateful Dead Hour by David Gans

Week of March 27, 1995

I was on my way out to Salt Lake City last month when I hit a little detour. All is well now - I am on my way to a full recovery! And I can't wait to reschedule my trip to Utah; Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and all the roads and rocks in between!

I was bringing a copy of this week's show along for my host in Salt Lake. The GD played Bob Weir's song "Salt Lake City" for the first and last time in that town on 2/21/95. There were some other interesting moments in the show, excerpted here.

"Salt Lake City," written by Weir and John Barlow, appeared on Bobby's 1978 solo album Heaven Help the Fool; I included the title track and Bob's fine cover of Lowell George's "Easy to Slip" in the show, too.

Enjoy!

I'm doing fine, everybody! I'm in Missouri for a music festival gig this weekend, and I get back on my bike Monday to resume my daily rides. The prognosis is for a long life!
