May 13 - May 19

Every Friday we'll be sending you off with a Jam Of The Week, hand-picked and delivered by tape archivist David Lemieux. Listen to it on the weekend. Listen to it at work. Listen to it all day long...but make sure you tune in or you'll miss out because these little nuggets will stream for ONE WEEK ONLY!
Great shows but I have to say that my fave is still the two Alpine shows from 82... the happy jam in between China and Rider was like a time machine transport to 74. The second day had Cippolina and Airto sitting in if I remember correctly... Sets both days were very heavy, and that Music Never > Sugaree>Stopped was absolutely insane. At least the first day made it into a Dick's Picks... 32 but don't quote me on that.

The first night was fantastic weather-wise... then as day 2 dawned, the rain moved in and stayed the entire time. It never let up for any amount of time. Nothing stayed dry.
I wish we had held onto that campsite in Lake Geneva... at least it had hot showers.
...but I ain't complainin'.
I agree that it was very present in the mix.
find that 12/11/72. mmmmmm.

Hey Man,
Guess I was one of a lucky few that got JOTW May6-May12 to open and play.
12/11/72 Some late 1st set stuff:China>Rider>Box of Rain>Aroundx2
That's what I think I heard...
Still coming down off of that Kick drum freakout of April 22-April 28 JOTW 1/17/69
I need more time
Ahh... The weather at these shows compared to '88 was like night and day. '88 was blazing hot and dry as a bone, and '89 we were smart enough to pitch our tent under the pines on the OTHER side of the "valley". But, OY ! The rain. No matter, the 4 of us had a great time in the tent those nights.... And I'll leave it at that.
( *sigh* ) Memories....
vanished and get replaced with this one.
GD72 would have been preferable, but the Morning Dew is a nice consolation prize.
this jam in good audio and video on youtube....
Location
These three nights are simply stellar end-to-end.
Worthy of an official release in their entirety?
