October 28- November 03

Every Friday we'll be sending you off with a Jam Of The Week, hand-picked and delivered by tape archivist David Lemieux. Listen to it on the weekend. Listen to it at work. Listen to it all day long...but make sure you tune in or you'll miss out because these little nuggets will stream for ONE WEEK ONLY!
6/23/90 was my birthday and I turned 26 years old. Happy Birthday to me! Thanks for the JOTW, my favorite Friday afternoon activity :0)
After 40 years I get a little Dead Fatigue occasionally, too. Most of us oldies do. That's why I listen to Other Music sometimes. Like the Replacements or Tower of Power or Radiohead or Foxy Shazam or Bird or Monk or Little Feat or Graham Parker or Burning Spear or Fela or Los Lobos. I think there are even more...and just like the fan said: I always come back to hear more GD.
This is actually a pretty good little jam here in this Stranger, too...thanks DL!
I always wonder who has this on their calender every Friday:
* Load "Jam Of The Week"
C'mon, some of us are looking forward to it!
It's a big part of who we are, Who I am, who I was. It's part of my tribe's culture.
If it gets too much then you gotta get going, Out of the door and into the street all alone.
When you realize your mistake we'll still e here.
Take a break, and take a deep breath
I think I remember seeing "Furthur" at these shows......This bus, not the original, was headed to the Smithsonian or something like for a display.
And then during TLEO.....Jerry sings about trying to see a little FURTHUR.
Perhaps it was all a dream one afternoon....maybe
Whenever I feel an overload of GD, I turn to Furthur or Ratdog or PNF....somehow, it's all the same music but all different. Listening to the different incarnations is refreshing.
ah, Eugene summer 90. sun was shining! this show smokes fat from the off. jerry, bobby et al combine to put on a cosmic show that is one for the ages. strong-as-heck stranger opener, blistering west la and first set highlight of cumberland blues. saw a wedding from the stands on the floor of autzen before TLEO which was cool as heck, with bride and groom dressed in funky dead marriage regalia and concentric rings of people simulating a group hug around the lucky couple at the conclusion of the ceremony. rumour was the band played TLEO for the love birds. sweet like a rhapsody
2nd set eyes>LLR pretty, pretty good too
