Two magical, complete performances from Philadelphia in Fall '79, the basis for Road Trips, Vol. 1 No. 1. These Spectrum shows, 11/5/79 & 11/6/79, are now available in both FLAC and MP3; documenting the band in the midst of their sparkling three-week eastern swing and capturing the raw excitement of the first tours with keyboardist Brent Mydland.
Previously unreleased in their entirety, now you can hear both shows from start to finish. The 11/5 performance includes "China Cat" as the show opener and a standout set with "Eyes of the World > Estimated Prophet > Franklin's Tower." The next night features a 15-minute plus "Terrapin Station," along with an extended "Playin' in the Band" with solid contributions from keyboardist Brent Mydland.
This is a digital-only release, and you have the option of downloading each show separately (11/5/79 and 11/6/79), or saving 10% when you order the two full shows together!

I can't access these - when I click on "More Download Info" I get an error page. Did these go the way of the Download Series?
if you're referring to the live show downloads, the CDs were available at the shows only from a company having nothing to do with Dead.net. Sorry, but this is not something we're in a position to fix; we don't have the rights. We've been able to provide access to the downloads here.
As for the full-show downloads that are actually the subject of this topic, i.e. the downloads of existing CDs, the CDs are in the Store for those who prefer that format (and I'm usually one of 'em).
And I just sent email to j.a.bailey to see if he's still having issues.
I hate to complain but find it irritating to pay $12 for a "download" of a show. Especially since that is the only medium available. How about those Heads that don't want to spend the time burning to CD, labeling, etc., so that we can listen to the show on systems other than our pc? How about all of the older heads that don't have the technical knowledge or those that don't want to make collecting shows a full-time job? Those that want to download mp3 and FLAC will trade/download shows for free via torrents and archive.net.
I just think for the $ we're spending for the download, we should have the option to purchase in CD format. Besides, most of us have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the past few decades going to Dead shows and supporting the band and extended GD family.
I feel bad for folks like j.a.bailey who have the $ to purchase the download and can't figure it out. I'm sure he and many others would welcome (and fork over the $) for these shows on CD.
Am I out-of-line here?
Archive.org ...........Got almost every show on this tour so far.....Example...2009-04-25..... Just look it up:)
Peace-

Jim Bailey--I am relatively new to using computers and therefore not fully computer literate or functional. Will someone be so kind as to tell me the procedure for downloading. To whomever is trying to help my system is a Dell 519 desktop w/ a 64-bit browser. If you need further details my email is baileyjr.jamesallen@yahoo.com Thanks in advance for your help
I paid for a download and got NOTHING so be prepared to be ripped off.
It would be time for a few new road trip full-show downloads, really!
any year would be welcome, especially something from the 80s or 90s!
OK, what is the hold up, I'm sure there is something in the Vault that could be released for us junkies? The rate you guys are going the fan base is going to be dead before 25% of this stuff is released, please go back to monthly format, I looked forward to a fresh show every month.

The More Download Info link is still not working, and I'd like to buy one of these. Any idea when/if they are coming back?
