Two magical, complete performances from Philadelphia in Fall '79, the basis for Road Trips, Vol. 1 No. 1. These Spectrum shows, 11/5/79 & 11/6/79, are now available in both FLAC and MP3; documenting the band in the midst of their sparkling three-week eastern swing and capturing the raw excitement of the first tours with keyboardist Brent Mydland.
Previously unreleased in their entirety, now you can hear both shows from start to finish. The 11/5 performance includes "China Cat" as the show opener and a standout set with "Eyes of the World > Estimated Prophet > Franklin's Tower." The next night features a 15-minute plus "Terrapin Station," along with an extended "Playin' in the Band" with solid contributions from keyboardist Brent Mydland.
This is a digital-only release, and you have the option of downloading each show separately (11/5/79 and 11/6/79), or saving 10% when you order the two full shows together!

Art work
Any one know if you can get the art work with these new items?

Art Work
They come with front cover jpegs only, like you see above. When printed out on glossy photo paper, they look much better than the rough cardboard covers of the original Road Trips CD's, but adding back covers with song lists would be nice.

THE SONGS MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT FLOW SEAMLESSLY!!!
Purchased the mp3 versions, and there is a very slight hesitation/gap between each track. I'm no dolt when it comes to burning. I've selected "no gap" in 4 different softwares (Roxio (pc), Toast (mac), iTunes (mac AND pc), and still a brief hiccup. I want my money back :( or at least a fix!!
I can't tell you how annoying this is. Never had a problem with the late, great Download Series.
Marye? Help!!!!!
Mine segue fine
I downloaded the FLAC files, and after reading the above post, I tested a half-dozen segues, and they are all smooth as silk. Still have the low-speed/pitch problem though.
Monday is just hours away, and I'm sure we'll hear something about the problems then.

The Pitch Problem, Listen To How Spoiled Digital Has Gotten Us !
We all dealt with this all the time when we were trading on cassette !! And no one said nothing. But now "Waa-Waa-Waa The pitch isn't right" lol What happened to us hu?Check Out My Orignal Music at myspace.com/salaversano

I will buy these downloads as soon as the pitch problem is resolved! I did not like it when my tapes were off either but it was easier back then to fix just by adjusting my pitch knob on the old Sony tape deck. But times have changed an that should not need to be done anymore. I can't wait to buy these but I want the right sound.
Pitch
Fix the pitch and I'll buy.
Pitch
I can't believe we the paying public have to fix an official release ourselves. Totally inexcusable. Seriously. I am happy they have decided to release these things as complete shows but to do it in a half-ass way is totally unprofessional.
This is embarrassing. Do you think Cutler or Phil would approve of this ? I think not.
Fix it and I will pay happily.
cheers
Thank you
Thanks for the full show. I am one of the OCD crew that trully enjoys the full show experience.
Keep the road trips comming, very enjoyable concept. But this option is equally welcome...
These shows rock!!
Dont let the small 2nd set fool you, its tight!
and for future needs... see sig below
release the JGB reels!!!
Pitch issue
I should have more definitive news for you pretty shortly, but in the meantime I can report that the intrepid tech crew is hard at work on the problem.
ETR, let me make some inquiries, because this is a bit over my head technically, but I *infer* from the foregoing discussion that the MP3s version has gaps and the FLAC doesn't. However, I will inquire and see what can be done.
