Get over it! I have been just fine in collecting music since the shut down of the archive.org GD downloads. I hasn't been easy but what the fuck ever is so... Everyone should be praying for a re-union! and "Wave to the Wind" @ one of these upcoming P&F shows! "November and more as I wait for the score They're telling me forgiveness is the key to every door A slow winter day and night like forever Sink like a stone, float like a feather" WE MUST HEAR THE MUSIC. We miss you Jerry!

Everyone should be praying for a re-union, and we have been praying for some time now. The core 4 (and it other members) is MORE than welcome to have a reunion at the Grateful Garcia Gathering this summer, or 2009, 2010! GDP would have to help though! I say, why not?!? www.GratefulGarciaGathering.com www.Myspace.com/GratefulGarciaGathering

It has been years since Phil played in Seattle. Do you think we can convince him to come a little farther north for a show?

Since the last dance (Atlanta '04) I have been praying for the return of the real rhythm devils Phil bombs on board with Bobby at the helm (not nessecarily at the helm but you know ; ) Suggestions for guitarists- Mark Karan, Jimmy Herring NO WARREN(tone deaf)we'll complete this fantasy with Hornsby and Barraco. Now i know we have a gap with singers but i always have enjoyed Joan's singing. in co-op with Bruce i think it would be magic. really though, there are so many great musicians out there that i'd love to hear in the context of GD but until we cross that jingle-bell rainbow this is only a dream...................................................................... We miss you Jerry!

The GD ignored Seattle from 1983 - 1994 for reasons unknown. Jerry ignored Seattle from 1984 - 1993. Now Phil hasn't been to Seattle since 2001. It's always Portland. P&F, book signing, etc. I would LOVE to see him and his band, but I can't go to Portland on a Monday and Tuesday night. Does anyone know why the GD and Seattle have such an estranged relationship? harry blotter

Yeah, like Steve-O said - What's up with the Phil/Bobby feud anyway? I've heard rumblings about it for years now but no one I've talked to seems to know exactly the nature of it...

Thanks cactuswax, I thought maybe my post was only visible to me. Does anyone have a clue, asto this so called feud? Also, Erie, PA. has a perfect little theater for Phil And Friends called the Warner. Great seating for everyone, and the accoustics are outstanding.

For those who have missed out on the archive incident I might shed a lil' light onto the situation....... A few years back the archive was fully operational with pretty much any GD live show you could imagine for download. Then came the time when the core 4 had the discussion of a digital catalog (in comes Rhino Records). Bobby, Billy and Mickey had all agreed to allow Rhino access to the vault and move into the digital age. All the while there were private folks remastering these gems and posting them on the Archive for anybody to download which had them a bit furious due to immense amount of people having access. Now Phil had been a regular user of the Archive and reveled in the fact that we had a great tool to spread the good news. And with the true spirit of The Man himself (JG), Phil stood ground for the Archive. This being the cause of the rift between the boys for a good 4 years now. So that being all the knowledge i have on the subject i beg of all you folks to pray for the re-union so we can all hear LED ZEPPELIN and THE DEAD @ Bonnaroo this year! also "Clementine" tonight or tomorrow at the Crystal Ballroom We miss you Jerry!

I think it needs to be buried as soon as possible, and get on with making killer music TOGETHER. That's what Jerry would want.

I'm sure there were plenty o' disagreements through the course of 30+ years of "active duty", but the boys always found a way to put it behind themselves onstage (or take it out on each other there!) ... as time trundles onward, it seems to me that now would be a good time to do just that. Course, I'm just some dude...

The taking down of the SBDs on Archive seems reasonable to me. I see Phil's position, and I respect it deeply. But me personally, I think there are some quality AUDs out there that people have 'mastered' and tinkered with, that sound better than most SBDs because there is another element added to it. You hear the music as it was recorded from speakers, as audience members heard it, not the direct feed into a soundboard. That's my two cents, anyhow.
