Summer Solstice Trivia
From Captain Trips to the Great Pyramid of Giza to Terrapin Station... If you think you know everything about The Dead, then we’ve got a challenge for you. We’re lightening things up this summer with a bit of Grateful Dead trivia. Each day we’ll post a new question and the previous day’s answer under The Latest. Get started here.
What is the farthest north in the United States that the Grateful Dead ever played a show?
who is the trivia master??? There is no image of the band on AB. The album cover with no beard is Compliments of Garcia.
Trivia master, get it right!
This was a super way to celebrate Jerry's 68th birthday (or what would of been his 68th bday) Seeing Jerry in the film was soooooo refreshing and not only because he was "Jerry in Black".
I wasn't sure what to expect in the film and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the final cut editors. My only regret is I wish they had included more of Keith and Donna; maybe Donna and Bobby doing "Looks Like Rain", would of been heaven.....ly
Anyway, good job folks, what 'cha got planned for next year????????
Hey man, I remember you last night. We stepped into the Way-Back Machine together! What a blast it was too. Brought back so many memories for me seeing them so many times at the Polo Fields and Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park. I would have loved to have seen all the missing songs that got left out of the movie though. I'm sure no one would have minded staying an extra 2 more hours. Anyway, glad you made the drive to your nearest Dead Theatre to see this.
Well, I finally got my movie ticket online knowing full well the year it was made - 1972. That alone made it a no-brainer. I saw the movie last night at the AMC 16 in Paramus, New Jersey. What a treat it was! It was a terrrific movie and the experience was like going to a GD event. It was an animated but fun crowd!
The quality of film print was just the way I like it - like watching a vintage classic that's not too pristine and a little grainy. You really got the feeling how hot it must have been that day. So for the rest of the evening, I wondered when "Sunshine Daydream" would be available for sale. I didn't wait long. Enjoy!
I also saw the movie last night and was similarly blown away. I commented to one of the other viewers, "How long until the DVD comes out?" Today's email answered that question. I drove 2,500 miles to see this movie - and for Jerry Day activities - and it was worth every mile! I can't wait until September when it ships. I may have to get a new TV to do it justice.
Too easy, hit us with something challenging.
I saw the movie last night and it blew me away, you guys did such a great job with this. Loved the snippets from acid tests and all the antics.
The best was the sound quality, it carried me back to all the great times and music.
Out Fucking Standing !!!!
Hope you folks have more tricks up your sleeve.
Thank You so much
I logged in to the site about 2:30AM, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY, but failed to see the day's question; only the answer to yesterday's question. What's up, Guys?????????? I've been right on every question since the start of the feature; Pls don't break my record just because it wasn't posted today????????
(From an observation of the queen of Sheba in her visit from her home in Africa to king Solomon's kingdom)
'Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.' l Kings 10:8 [KJV]
Got all of those wrong, but still got a well done on the fourth try!
