Week of April 1-7, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1972, 1973, and 1989.
Our first selection this week is from 1/2/72 at Winterland, the first show of a mighty fine year in Grateful Dead history, where we have the start of the show: Truckin'; Sugaree; Mr. Charlie; Beat It On Down The Line; Loser; Jack Straw.
Next up is music from almost two years later, on 10/25/73 in Madison, WI, where we have the end of the first set, featuring El Paso; Row Jimmy; Playing In The Band.
Lastly this week is the entire first set from 12/30/89, where we have the first Bertha>Good Lovin’ opener since 9/16/78 in Egypt: Bertha > Good Lovin' > Sugaree ; Walkin' Blues ; Jack-A-Roe ; When I Paint My Masterpiece; West L.A. Fadeaway ; The Music Never Stopped.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
