    keith on the 1971 darkstar
Man oh man, that's some great stuff. How long had Keith been in the band at this point? A few months. A quick study. Great darkstar. Thanks for the music.

This piece of ´67 is amazing...
Over and over I return to Potato. One of the most intriguing pieces of music ever written....and I love what Phil does to it, thoose freakin´ freaky bassolos! I fully support those who long for a ´67-box!!!!

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1967, 1971 and 1972.

Our first stop this week is this powerful show early in Mickey Hart’s tenure with the Grateful Dead on 10/22/67 at Winterland, where they played this classic 1967 song list: Morning Dew; New Potato Caboose ; It Hurts Me Too; Cold Rain And Snow; Turn On Your Lovelight; Beat It On Down The Line ; Cryptical Envelopment > The Other One> Cryptical Envelopment.

From four years later, we have this big sequence of music from 10/21/71 in Chicago: Dark Star > Sittin' On Top Of The World > Dark Star > Me And Bobby McGee.

Lastly this week, from 10/18/72 in St. Louis we have one of the most exciting sequences of 1972, and that’s saying a heck of a lot (we hope you don’t mind two versions of Dark Star this week): Playing In The Band> Drums > Dark Star > Morning Dew > Playing In The Band; Deal ; The Promised Land.

Be sure to join us here next week for more Grateful Dead music direct from their vault.

mine says file type unsupported or file corrupted. The other two seem fine.

You owe the community an apology. Don't communicate like a jerk, and you won't be called out as one.

Love this show performed at the Winterland. Grateful Dead delivered the goods only a few weeks after getting busted for pot
