Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1980s, specifically 1981, 1985 and 1988. Dead Freaks Unite!

Our first selection this week is the end of the second set from 3/3/81 in Cleveland, featuring Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance > Black Peter > Good Lovin' , Casey Jones. A couple of somewhat rare things here are the Sailor>Saint out of Space, and the Casey Jones encore.

Next we have the entire first set from 11/2/85 in Richmond, VA, featuring a classic batch of songs from the era, including a couple of first set favourites from the era in Dupree's and Esau: Bertha ; Greatest Story Ever Told ; Dupree's Diamond Blues ; C C Rider ; Althea ; My Brother Esau ; Candyman ; Let It Grow.

Lastly this week is the entire first set from 9/5/88 at the Capital Centre in Landover, MD, then-home to the Washington Capitals hockey team, and the Washington Bullts (now Wizards) basketball team: Mexicali Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; When Push Comes To Shove ; The Music Never Stopped.

Be sure to join us next week for more music from the vault.

It's time long overdue for some consecutive choices from the '80s in the Dave's Picks series.

The Second Set 11/2/85 Estimated>Uncle John's>China Doll>D/S>Dew was awesome cool jams and the space into Dew was magical. To bad we will not see the boys on the east coast in 2015. As we were waking up on 11/2 someone grabbed a paper as we ate breakfast and read a review of the 11/1 show in the Richmond newspaper. It started off the Clouds of Pot Smoke inside the Coliseum were thicker then the rain clouds outside prior to the show...... All the arrest on 11/1 was why they opened with Bertha, listen for the firecracker before Dupree's. Richmond shows were smokin' in 85!!! Great Memories.

Enjoy these golden nuggets, including "Lost Sailor" and "Casey Jones" at Cleveland Music Hall in 1981. I can't stop listening to "Mexicali Blues" and "Row Jimmy" set in Capital Centre, Landover, Maryland, 1988. Many thanks to David Lemieux.

That's the cutest "Casey Jones" I've ever heard, that Cleveland March 3 '81.

Don't believe it's a technical issue, the question is presented in the subjective sense and related to previous posts (likely the first one)...

Imagine seeing the Dead do this song in 1985 at Richmond Coliseum.

This has gotta be the worst-sounding Walking Blues I have ever heard, mainly b/c of Bob's singing.
