Tapers Section By David Lemieux

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1972, 1973 and 1991.

Our first stop this week is at the Academy of Music on 3/22/72, the second of seven nights before they left for Europe. From that fine show we have Me And My Uncle ; Sugaree ; Chinatown Shuffle ; Playing In The Band ; It Hurts Me Too ; Brown Eyed Women ; El Paso ; Brokedown Palace.

Next is music from 3/16/73 at Nassau Coliseum, with a rare first set opening China>Rider. For that show we have the bulk of Set 1: China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Jack Straw ; Wave That Flag; Looks Like Rain ; Ramble On Rose ; Box Of Rain; Beat It On Down The Line ; They Love Each Other ; El Paso ; Row Jimmy.

Lastly this week is the start of Set 2 on 3/25/91 in Albany, shows featuring only Vince on keyboards, as Bruce had previous commitments and missed the Albany and Nassau shows on this tour. From this show we have Greatest Story Ever Told ; Crazy Fingers ; Truckin' > Spoonful > Jam > Drums.

Join us next week for more great stuff from the vault.

I have to agree. I may critique songs once in awhile, but as far as band members Iv'e learned to just keep my opinions to myself. I don't have to put that negative energy out there and offend others. Of course you can always say what you mean w/o saying it mean.

FIRSTLY always thanks to the fine job being done to provide us with all these morsels and great tunes, always fun to see whats on thisweek EVEN IF ITS NOT MY FAVORIED show, period lineup etc

WHAT I LOVE and had to point out to anyone who cares to read this is, IT IS JUST LIKE GOING TO shows, i have set next to a good friend, danced, had great musical experiences and than talk to a neighbor who experienced the same thing , but VERY different point of view,

what i love abopu the sight esp the taperspit, is taht if not in the mood for a late 60's meandering, or blues night witth the band stretching way out, but garcia so limited in hit tonal palletes due to equpiment that black gibson, love it but does it cary the ringing almost perfect tones of WOLF or hula girl, NOT even in the same tonal category

sometimes i love the early 70's but wishthey would stretch some of the tunes out, but they were still int here infancy

than shoot ahead to the 90's and es mid 90's I am always anxious to hear the moments that others think are great from a period where that word was replaced in my vocabulary by sad most nights HOWEVER there are some gems tucked int he debris

IS THERE ANY GOOD TAPE OF THE Helo slip FIRE from boston 94 i think, that is one brilliant moment in an otherwise very spotty period.
or the LONG EYES opener from foxboro, from same period,

well keep up the VAROUS opinions goign, and just like the tunes ifyou dont like a period or a particularly negative person DONT READ IT, or change the channel

peace and pleasant converstaions,

I am in for the '91er

and 4 every...
"professional release"
available too, xo! Ha!

I am capping that for ya.

"Professional Release"

as it is more-like a noun-
a Person, Place OR Thing.

Recovering from the on-line experience last night at
It was the first time I laid down for the last song at a RatDog Show.
And the first time I went to sleep without another movement at the end
of the encore. No house lights, no security guards, no sad it's over feeling,
no lot, no -------, no cops, no cars, no t-shirts....Just out cold.
What a 1st! I woke up at 3:17am fully dressed with my shoes on and
thought this thought. And I thought it was nice but it could never compare
to being there. This is a new thing and should incorporate itself nicely
to this ever changing world we live in but only being there could
satisfy my need--->for it live, Soul. Even so we all were nose to nose
but 20ft. is just fine by me. Let's do again real soon! and
Maybe Make IT a >>>>>>>>>>>>
"Professional Release". And if last night was one, I missed IT.

This '91 has been great and has definitely helped me on a larger
scope of living and letting go>>>XOSpaceXO >>>THANK YOU.

Will be back for more, for sure, xo!

Comic Book Colors...

If anything, the snippet of "ehh..." from Albany '91 convinces me even more that the Greensboro '91 shows are going to get a "professional release" sometime in the very near future....

And that's a good thing.

(Who among us couldn't stand a "professional release" from time to time ? ) ;-)
