Tapers Section By David Lemieux

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where we roll into the middle of July with music from 1968, 1980 and 1988.

Our first stop this week is on 8/21/68, when the Dead played this excellent sequence at the Fillmore West in San Francisco: Dark Star > Saint Stephen > The Eleven > Death Don't Have No Mercy.

Next we have the start of the show from the 2nd night of a five night run in Oakland, from 12/27/80:Feel Like A Stranger ; Sugaree > New Minglewood Blues ; Loser.

Lastly this week is the fine first set from 6/28/88 at SPAC, the Dead’s final appearance at this cool venue in upstate NY: Hell In A Bucket> Bertha ; Walkin' Blues ; Candyman ; When I Paint My Masterpiece; Row Jimmy ; Victim Or The Crime; Foolish Heart.

Be sure to join us next week for more music from the vault.

My absolute favorite show from 1988. I have this in high quality but sure wouldn't be upset if it were ever officially released!
