    July 15 - July 21, 2013

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, as we head past the middle of July. This week we have some Grateful Dead music from 1978, 1980 and 1982.

Our first stop this week is at the Philadelphia Spectrum on 5/13/78, during the second leg of the Spring Tour of 1978. From this show, we have the end of the second set made up of Truckin'>Black Peter>Sugar Magnolia; One More Saturday Night.

Another end-of-the-second-set sequence is our next selection, from 5/31/80 in Bloomington, MN, where we have I Need A Miracle>Bertha>Sugar Magnolia, U.S Blues. I've always loved the Miracle>Bertha combination, two songs that worked perfectly together.

Our final selection this week is from the Greek Theater in Berkeley on 5/23/82, where we have the end of the first set: Loser>Little Red Rooster, Ramble On Rose, Let It Grow. This was the last night of a three night run at the Greek.

Be sure to stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.

Greek 81: three winnersGreek 82: three winners Greek 83: three winners Greek 84: one AMAZING show, one good one, one strong one Greek 85: three winners Greek 86: sloppy, but fun...kind of like reheated pizza Greek 87: one winner, two "never heards" Greek 88: three strong shows (truthfully, I am not that familiar with them) Greek 89: three strong shows (again, not that familiar with them) that makes ten worthy shows in the first four years alone. C'mon, DaL et al, GREEK US.

love that one :)) Not to "one up" anybody, but of all the people to passionately and relentlessly campaign for 80's shows, maybe after the Greek shows, DL could have a string of shows and rightfully call it the "Spacebrother Series".

Listening. Let's make tonite a Friday Nite! and Friday can be Sunday or whatever you like best! Nah tonite can be Sunday an tomorrow can be Monday, a regular day off for me. Yeah, but then again I can use a Saturday on Thursday; Thursday is really never a Saturday. So, I call it Friday nite, for me at least. Sunday is going to rock! Wow, so much to look forward to. Thursday is Saturday, yeah Thursday is almost never Saturday! Sweetness. Love the picks, Thanks, xo. ---------------(----@ See ya on Sunday, maybe, xo!

I like that idea! Especially if I get to pick 'em!! Greek '82 and Laguna Seca '88 would be at the top of that list.
