Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1980s, from 1982, 1985, and 1988.
Our first selection this week is from 4/6/82 at the Philadelphia Spectrum, a show released as part of the Road Trips series. From this mighty fine show, we have the start of the second set featuring Shakedown Street>Lost Sailor>Saint Of Circumstance>Terrapin Station.
Next up is the end of the first set from 4/4/85 at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, RI, where we have My Brother Esau ; Friend Of The Devil ; Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance > Deal. We hope you don’t mind two Sailor>Saints this week.
Lastly this week is the first set of opening night of a three night run in Hartford, CT, on 4/3/88, a show at which Jerry’s voice was in pretty rough shape but the performances were pretty darn good. From Easter Sunday in New England, we have Promised Land> Greatest Story Ever Told; Althea; Little Red Rooster; Cold Rain & Snow; Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again; Box Of Rain ; Don't Ease Me In.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
