Week of June 24-30, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1990s.
Our first selection is from Phil’s 50th birthday on 3/15/90 at the Capital Center in Landover, MD, a show released on CD almost 25 years ago as Terrapin Limited. From this outstanding show, we have the entire first set: Jack Straw > Sugaree ; Easy To Love You ; Walkin' Blues ; Althea ; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; Tennessee Jed ; Cassidy > Don't Ease Me In.
From a year later, at the same venue, on 3/17/91, we have this long, excellent start of the second set, including the first East Coast New Speedway Boogie in more than 20 years. From this tour-opener, we have China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Man Smart (Woman Smarter) ; Crazy Fingers ; Truckin' ; New Speedway Boogie.
Lastly this week, another great start to the second set, from 3/11/93 at the Rosemont Horizon near Chicago. From this show, we have Iko Iko ; Wave To The Wind > Truckin' > Spoonful > He's Gone.
Be sure to join us next week for more great music from the vault.
