Tapers Section By David Lemieux

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1972, 1973 and 1979.

Our first selection is from Winterland on 12/11/72, featuring a good batch of first set material: China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider, Box of Rain, He's Gone, Around and Around, Friend of the Devil, Playing In The Band.

Next up is the huge jam from 12/8/73 at Duke University's Cameron Indoor Stadium, featuring He's Gone>Truckin'>Nobody's>Jam>Other One>Wharf Rat>Stella Blue. There is so much good music from the Fall of 1973, and this jam is one of the biggest and best.

Lastly this week, from the cassette master, we have first set material from 12/5/79 in Chicago, Alabama Getaway> Greatest Story Ever Told ; Dire Wolf ; Me And My Uncle > Big River; Cold Rain And Snow.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to do so again next week for more great music from deep within the vault.

the 80's...

i didn't get on the bus touring until the 80's (alpine 82 my first show), but i never had such a good time!!!! sure, i'd a loved to have seen pigpen, keith and donna, etc., but it wasn't meant to be. the way i look at it, i didn't get to see the young dead, but the older, more mature dead...!
