Grateful Dead
October 17- October 23, 2011

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have a batch of Grateful Dead spanning a short spam, 1988-1992.
Our first stop this week is at the Met Center in Bloomington, MN, where we have the post-Drums sequence made up of Space>The Wheel>Gimme Some Lovin'>All Along The Watchtower>Black Peter>Lovelight. This was the first show of the tour that would also see stops at Alpine, Buckeye, SPAC, Rochester and Oxford, ME.
Next is another post-Drums sequence, this one from 6/10/90, the final night of a three night run at Cal Expo, featuring Gimme Some Lovin' > Standing On The Moon > Throwing Stones > Not Fade Away, The Last Time. These were some mighty fine shows, and make up the start of the summer tour that would end up being Brent's final tour with the band. The next two weekends of shows after this, at Shoreline and Eugene, are also excellent.
Finally this week, from the second of a two night run at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany, NY, we have Space > The Last Time > China Doll > Sugar Magnolia, Attics Of My Life. This was the first tour featuring only Vince on the entire tour, as Bruce had left after the 3/23/92 show at the Palace in Auburn Hills, MI.
Join us back here next week for more great tunes from the Grateful Dead archive. And as always, feel free to write to us at the email address below.

...4-1-91 was a good show. Greensboro.
Hope you can get the above Taper set from the Met in Blmngton up and playing
Not one to complain about the loss of free stuff... But when did the Taper's Section archive get abbreviated? I just went to find a particular Franklin's Tower and found that many of the selections are now gone (whine, whine, whine).

I for one also would like to hear this one again as I was at this show. I grew up here and moved out to San Diego in 1987 and flew back for the party. I've been back for 15 years and I'm looking for a band here in the twincities who needs a knowledgable guitarist for dead covers. Hope you get it fixed. Brent.
