Portland Jam Band, Jerry Rig

We here at Jerry Rig labs all love playing the Dead's music. We've kept this music in our lives non-stop. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are sometimes starved for the Dead's music. This has only made us hungrier and eager to feast. Like the Dead, we do our share of cover tunes by Dylan, The Band, The Beatles, with names like Dear Prudence, Up on Cripple Creek, and Tangled up in Blue. Our bag of goodies includes about 100 songs now, including over 2 dozen originals written over the past few years.

Inspired by our heroes, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Our music ranges from the airy fun of "Hey Sunshine" to downright anger expressed in "Oceans of Greed". Throw in a few original instrumental jams, like "B9" or "Tonal Solstice Calyx" and you can see it gets pretty deep in here.

Our most recent gig at the luscious Horning's Hideout May 23 was an invite only event, enjoyed by a great crowd in near perfect weather.

If you are in the Portland area, we will have a show at Mississippi Pizza Sunday, May 31 at 9 PM.

There is also an unsubstantiated rumour that we are also playing at The Darling Reunion Campground Friday of Oregon Country Faire 2009.

If you are touring through the Portland area, and would like to do a show with us, let us know!

Lookin for a band that needs a guitarist in qca

I've been playin guitar for close to five years now and i think i'm getting good. not to sound cocky. jerry is my hero and i always try to get him in my playing. i especialy like to jam like the dead did(and still do). the songs that they jam like eyes, dark star, truckin, scarlet>fire, china cat>ryder, etc, is what i get off on and if anyone wants to try to put some sort of band together heavy on the dead sound i want do it. having just graduated yesterday and not having a job i think that a band is really the only thing i could do since i really don't have any other talents besides guitar and an obsession with all things dead. so PM me if you read this. I can't travel too far but i can some what.

Odacious Green

Hey guys i just joined a band with my friends that i have been jamming with for about a couple months. We were strawberry jam but we changed our name to Odacious Green. Here is our site. http://www.myspace.com/odaciousgreen

the age range is 16-20. We are all good friends and we play a bunch of our own originals that we jam too but we do many grateful dead, some allman brothers and some phish covers as well. We are working on getting more music up on the myspace, even some of our dead covers. We cover many dead songs which is pretty cool because there are like very few bands from my area that even listen to the dead. We do
Scarlet > Fire
China > Rider
Franklins Tower
Bertha
and many songs from the very best of like ripple, friend of the devil, uncle johns band, box of rain.

we are currently working on Help > Slip > Frank

If anyone that is around Philly can help us out with shows, please let me know
