Thank you ,dear Marye ,for understanding that sometimes ,we must aollow topics others than flowers and birdies ,concerning dreadful events that happened to fellow deadheads simply becausu we ought to care enough to at least hear about it ,and also because it can help protect other deadheads ahead of time of what can happens out there ,another way to care far and wide for fellows deadheads .By helping LegendaryRob ,we prove our concerns for the safety of all deadheads in our parking lots ,at shows and on the road back home , and the best proof that if 'shit can happen' we are not left out to deal alone with crimes ,and that' important to keep the Dead scene a' family community'

we've also discussed the murders of Adam Katz and Patrick Shanahan by venue security goons back in the day. We've posted a message from a guy whose dog was stolen on tour. Etc.
I'm not fond of bad vibes either, but as CC points out, the situation may well represent a hazard to others as well, and I'm certainly in favor of making crime victims whole to the extent possible.
So yeah, not a sunshine and butterflies topic, but arguably one of interest and import to the Deadhead community, so it's here. And yeah, not every topic here will be on everyone's Just Exactly Perfect list, most likely, so feel free to ignore it if you don't want to deal with it. That is PERFECTLY okay, of course.
... the graphic accounts of violence seem out of place here. To single this incident out achieves giving it more importance than it is due, imho. If I'm the only one here who feels this way I always have the ability step off.
In my mind there is never a justification for doing violence. Not that discussing this is violence
but... it makes people think vigilante violent justice is justifiable when it is certainly not.

One of the things that happens when threads exist is that contrary opinions and alternate realities are posted by various folks. That's the way it's supposed to work.

whatever 'issues', that the people who attacked me had with the kids who helped me out vending, is NOT my business, and it should NEVER have wound up in MY lap.I do NOT know ANY of the people involved in the crime(s)-thus the $1000.oo reward for the legal identity of the perpetrator.--I wasnt particularly pleased to hear tell of this 'hatter' person assualting & robbing my 'employee', at the gorge, either, but I let it lie, much to my regret, as evidenced by the assualt & robbery on me roughly a month later.
2nd of all, it IS important that the criminal(s) be caught.
(2a-yes, I have caught a LOT of flak over this happening, but frankly, I have $11,000 in medical & related expenses from this, BS, and I want it resolved.
2b: at least a PORTION of the crap up with which I put, was 'put into motion', by this 'hatter' person lying to the police about me in the first place (a false report, that, i was RIGHTLY, cleared of), after I asked her (for the 9th time in two days) to quit bothering me in regards to the young lady she had robbed at the gorge dead show.--SO-since the SUSPECTS THEMSELVES chose to involve the police in a FALSE report (that didnt have the desired effect), I feel I have no choice but to involve the police in this REAL crime.(especially after ;not dealing' with the first crime I was aware of them being involved with.(as a 'courtesy')

hey this is ooplik We are acquainted but I just want to stay neutral. The captain would like to arrange a sit down meeting with other family present to discuss some reparations.
Frankly dude WE all just want this to end. The captain is not a junkie or a bad person. We know that you are too.
The captain would like a chance to tell you his side of the story on neutral ground in front of respected family witnesses.
One thing though He says he didn't rob you and that's a serious charge that he could get 35 years for..
Lets just work this out like the peaceful people we all are.
The captain is willing to pay part of your med bills but again insists that the two security guards really beat you down.
The capt feels horrible about this in his words: " I never would have done that to him it was way more than necessary, I really am sorry"
In his defense he is a goo man, but he has severe PTSD hence the xanax so he snaps easily. He is in counseling and has bee since before waka.
He himself was beaten severely in prison and you can imagine what else.
Please aat least respond to me and I will [ass it onto capt. and represent him.

oh, and one more reason this thread was put up:a well-known distributor of Grateful Dead
Licensed items, and other art & jewelry, was brutally attacked, and almost murdered,not to mention robbed, at a large music festival.the person in question, ME, has helped out any number of people any number of times (digging in the dirt when the deck collapsed, etc, etc) and its only fair to HELP him, if you can.
