The CFDP (Common Foreign and Defense Policy) is Europe's answer to NATO. It has intervened in 23 separate countries with armed troops that have been shot and died in such places as the Balkans, Chad and Palestine. The rise of this block, inclusive with Russia, is a global shift that started some time ago. In 2003 the Bush regime was only able to lead a coalition of the willing in it's rush to judgment in Iraq and many NATO countries refused to be involved.

America's becoming a debtor nation has even limited what it can spend to fund the wars of it's choosing. This does not mean that the nation does not have great ways to influence and leverage it's economic and security interests on the planet, it does. But it is clearly not running the show any longer. The rise of China and the banding together of a Europe that includes Russia has brought about a relative parity between a few major powers.

It seems that when history is told it will be written that America ruled the globe at a very critical time in it's development, the advent of the nuclear age in 1945 to about 2005. History may also be very cruel when passing judgment on a country with a budget surplus of multibillions of dollars that followed a seemingly suicidal path of ignoring the environment and persecuting a war against a major religion while allowing greater and greater freedom for corporations that know no border.

What did we ever learn from the trips we took and those endless days on tour? To be kind and gentle in all our actions and not to harsh on people, animals and other living things. To live inside a death culture and not be corrupted from within, accepting each color of the rainbow family and seeing only good within it.
