Next spring sounds promising! I won't hold my breath yet, though.

Grateful Dead to regroup for Obama benefit at Penn State

The surviving members of the Grateful Dead have confirmed they will regroup to play at least one concert to benefit Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
The band - without legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia who died in 1995 - will perform Oct. 13 at the Bryce Jordan Center at the Penn State campus in State College, Pa.
The Allman Brothers Band is also on the bill.
It will be the first time since 2004 that Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Micky Hart have played together.
Guitarist Warren Haynes and keyboard player Jeff Chimenti will fill out the sound, according to a report in Relix, a music magazine long aligned with the Dead.
A spring tour could be in the works if the reunion performance goes well

There is a game that day on the 13th. I sincerely believe that is going to be a Penn state or else the Dead wouldn't have put up the brief note last night. It didn't stay long so maybe someone jumped too early in letting the news out. They certainly don't want to scare Penn state! lmao
I talked with a VERY nice lady several hours ago and she told me that that admin told her that the contract has not been signed and for me to just stay alert. So thats neither a yeh nor ney. But she did say that the admin had talked to her about it this morning and to expect some calls! lol All this came from the lady at the hotline for tix at Penn State.
The lady in the administrative office said that it is still officially a rumor that they are playing in State College. She said that "We have no confirmation in our building that they are playing here."
It's been such a tease all day... Give me some answers!!!

This is not about politics its about the oppurtunity to hear these guys play together. Once the show is over will it really matter? The teaser they threw at us kind of sucks, although it looks hopeful. I saw the Grateful Dead play there, can't remember much more then that.

In the past 19 months, the nearly 300 members of our group Deadheads for Obama (see above link) have raised $85,000 dollars for the campaign.
See you at the show!
