thats not what the post said! it said the venue said its too premature to announce anything.... Im sure there will be a press confrence just like DFO I......... btw www.ratdog.org is a real forum that you can actually start and post topic instead of this stone aged forum.....
Someone just posted on ratdog.org that they called the venue and the person on the phone said the show will not be held there....
Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart announced today that they will join together again on October 13th to headline a benefit concert for the Presidential campaign of Senator Barack Obama, at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA. Also appearing will be the Allman Brothers Band, plus opening act to be determined.
Last February, Weir, Lesh and Hart performed together for the first time since 2004 at the hugely successful “Deadheads for Obama” show at The Warfield in San Francisco. Now founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann joins his musical brethren in service of this historic cause, with Warren Haynes and Jeff Chimenti rounding out the band.
Stay tuned to dead.net for further details, ticket information, etc.
So the kids they dance and shake their bones.........Summer tour 2009.........woooooooohoooooooooo
Yeah I don't think they would of posted it if it wasn't true. I'm sure Obama knows what he's getting involved in when it comes to the dead community. I'm sure they just pulled it to finalize info. Obviously this is going to be a huge show. It wouldn't surprise me if they offer tickets very shortly after they work out all of the red tape.
they are finalizing details and info according to the box office at penn state......

Im not the one advocating anything. Im simply pointing out that the dead did not ignore human rights in darfur in the name of throwing money at a millionaire politician..
drawing parallels between darfur and the dead supporting obama as a fun way to express themselves is a pretty big stretch.."
You are mistaken completely...My candidate? Who is my candidate? Do you know? You do not know for my candidate is dead. Thomas Jefferson is not eligible to run in this election. If you are passing judgment on me because I do not support the dead using the music I love to support petty politicians. I do not want them to use the "Deadheads for obama" mantra because I am a deadhead and that does not represent who I am but it will be assumed I am something that I am not. I do not wish the remaining members or anybody else to speak for me on politics or any other matter. They can vote for whom they want, they can support publicly who they want as long as they represent themselves and not deadheads in general. After all they are not deadheads, they are the band.
I further did not draw parallels between Obama and Darfur, I am stating that fund raising for people who really need it is far better placed charity than an already over exposed slimy politician. Expose him any further and people may just get sick of them.
If you want to know who I am voting for and who I support here it is: Paris Hilton. That is correct I am writing her name in. She has more moral and intellectual fortitude in her painted little pinky nail than all the candidates combined; plus she has the best energy solution.
did cross my mind. Though what it may have to do with the situation at hand remains unknown. Stay tuned...
10,000 stoned deadheads (many of whom don't care about/want the politics) besieging a stadium in PA may not be the image Mr Obama is seeking right now.
