Hello my friends

Hi all I'm still here and still listening and playing.

Well:

Just enjoyed a great March Break.
We went to the beach for a day, played laser tag with my kids and nephews (My name was "Dark Star") it was great fun, enjoyed a couple of beers in the sun on the front lawn listening to music with my wife and her sister in the sun while the kids biked, scooted, jumped and played (it felt like summer vacation).
Saw Alice and Wonderland iwith my kids in 3-D yesterday. Enjoyed Tim Burton's adaption...Great morals and messages (a lot of archetypal things were happening...atleast in my mind) throughout including something repeated through the film.....It's O.K. to be partly mad most of the best people are.....Another good one on imagination..... I often have 6 outrageous ideas before breakfast (or something oalong that line).......Anyway, I think I related to the Mad Hatter best. After we left the theatre (beautiful and sunny outside) my daughter stopped in a parking spot and got into an invisible car. I apon grasping the situation got into the drivers seat and we drove off......anyway heres to imagination in action!
Watched the first 3 Star Wars movies with the family.
Read a good an interested book I have long wanted to read. Farenheit 451.
I visited with my sister one afternoon last week (alone...a nice and rare occurrence-normally with kids in tow).
Went to T.O. with a friend to meet another there....went out for all you can eat sushi and a few beers....fun...enjoyed a pipe and a fun and wonderfully strange movie "Bubba Hotep".
Played more guitar, learned a couple more dead songs - Deal and Bird Song. Oh yah Dark Star too! Just stumbled upon that one in a jam.

Anyway. It was hard for us all to get back at it this morning – I’m pacing myself today....think I’ll have more coffee shortly.

All your concert outings sound great. Yes I am hopeful to get out to see a further show this summer.
Also I have been enjoying the podcast "Dead air with Uncle John".
On one show they opened with an awesome "Samson and Delilah". I was having one of those transporting feelings and was very pleased and surprised to hear it was actually Further and not a GD recording.

Keep enjoying life,

well, Krys & Richard...& the rest of you

I always did consider myself a half a Canadian, because my grandparents homesteaded in Alberta & dad was born there (although I was born in the USA) Have many relatives up north, many of whom we've never met.....we went to BC alot when I was a kid, but he never took me to Alberta....dang....oh well......glad yall won the gold on your national sport! I think it's great

Thanks GC

I think it's telling that our patriotic pride is quiet on the CanHead forum. We don't usually blow the horn too loud around here, though there was some partying in the streets for sure. I think that there's a sensitivity to the fact that we're guests in a mostly American scene and wouldn't want to be rude! (I can't imagine that there are no hockey fans here... seeing that it was the most viewed sports program in Canadian television history - 21.5 million people, 64.3 percent of Canada's population, watched some portion of the game.) And what a game it was!

I don't know about you guys, but it was kind of surprising that we came away with so many medals... didn't expect it, especially after what I remember from Calgary '88. People were high off the Olympic buzz last week. That's if you support the Olympics... whole other topic there. Any heads from Vancouver wanna share your experiences pre- and post- Olympic invasion?

As for FURTHUR adventures... I am gonna truck down to the ArtPark in Lewiston for the 8th of July ... but I'd sure love to see you in Rochester, Chris! Many of my buddies will be there. I will too, if I can make some "special arrangements" =)

Cheers,
K

Hey Now :)

hope you all are doing grate !!!

Made it safe and sound to Buffalo and back. Parking lot was fun but snowy, If you stood in one place for too long you would look like a snowman after a while. There was a campfire in the lot, met some good people and scored what we wanted with ease. The theatre is really neat and fancy, I saw Bob and Rob here in 1995. We went in a bit early and had some drinks, then headed to 3rd row right of center. 20 min to show time we both 8 a dose. I really enjoyed this show even though I did not care for the setlist, the playing was just amazing. At times I was dancing my face off and other times I just had to stand there in pure amazement of what I was hearing. Set break OUTSIDE !!!! really fun. Second set, chris is now in skypilot mode, great times and lots of smiles :) loved the shakedown near the end. Left the place in peace and after a quick bite walked back to the hotel for more festivities..

And today........I got tix to Rochester in June :):):)...............the shows are close and reasonable in price.

ALSO.... KRS......listened to your show on the sat radio that night, sounded great and was so cool to have at home. I bet it was cool just being at the venue and hanging out !!!

We are all so lucky to have this so available right now, cheap tix, close to home, band is amazing...............I love it

Most recordings are available on archive.org soon after the show.

Talk to you guys later, I tried uploading fan photos ??(we will see)

Also..... new "Canadian Dead Songs" soon hahahahahahahah

............chris

Oh boy, here it comes again...

Furthur Summer 2010 Tour!!!

Fri-Jun-25 Rochester, NY Highland Bowl
Thu-Jul-08 Buffalo, NY ArtPark

Both look good to me! Might have to hit the Highland Bowl for a change. Dancing in the great (if urban) outdoors! Come on, Playin... there's got to be a summer date you can make it to... =)

Hi Chris & Co

Heard that Buffalo show was lots of fun. Our friend Corrina was there for her first Dead show - guess what they played? =) Did you enjoy Hard To Handle? I heard it was smokin.

Cornell was really fun. I got my wish: They Love Each Other. That and Unbroken Chain were highlights for me. We could have boogied a little harder if they hadn't mellowed out in the 2nd set, but that was okay. It kind of fit the mellow vibe of Ithaca. What a great town. Gorgeous NY mountains. And Barton Hall was superb - acoustics were unbelievable and with a springy dancefloor. Just great to hear these guys still kickin it out. Especially Phil - holy crap, you wouldn't know he's a month away from 70. Geez, he is on his game - better than ever - that man is dangerous. Missed the drummers, though. They really contribute the foundation of the sound. I'd say that even with John K, I still enjoyed the Dead at MSG more. Just a mindblowing show in terms of material and so well played, especially by Warren. He and John each have their strong points. It just goes to show that no one can replace the amazing Mr. Garcia.

Here's one of many links to Cornell:

Love you Can heads. Peace, K
