the old Keith & Donna album released. So sweet and bluesy, and with a lovely cover with JG's artwork sketched on Zion's forehead. Oh yeah!
Forgot the website in my first post... go to www.thisisboombox.com
Donna Jean is awesome, and so is her son. Zion's band Boombox is quickly rising in the jamband/electronic scene. Their album Visions of a Backbeat is awesome, very intoxicating grooves to dance to. I missed most of their opening set for Particle in april cause I was in the green room with the Particle guys, but from what I heard backstage I loved it. And then something awesome happened, Boombox came out and played through particle's setbreak starting from the last song of their first set and ending after all 4 members of Particle came back on stage one by one. It was seamless and one of my favorite musical moments I've seen in the last few years. Go See Boombox!! Go See Particle!!
We to are looking forward to seeing this band in the midwest at the Grateful Garcia Gathering! So many gifted musicans in this band, and they all gel nicely together! Can you say, DONNA JEAN!!! =)

No one could be a better donna than donna. Her new band and her new work speaks for itself. Check it out you just might have a good time..... Time to look forward ..............
Saw DSO with Donna at the GAMH.
Sounded better than ever !
If you're looking for something real DJ&tT are it; unpretentious, great jams, lyrics, harmonies and musicianship. Looking forward to the new cd and this band receiving the recognition they have earned. See you at a show!
You really owe it to yourself as a GD afficionado to see DJ now. Lisa Mackey is a wonderful talent too and I love DSO, but Donna Jean is the real deal and she has never sounded better than she does now. Go check out one of the DJ&tT shows and see if you don't agree! Or go to the DJ&tT web site and check out the sounds page. Hope to see you at a show soon.
136 shows -- Lisa Mackey of DSO is a better Donna than Donna. I saw and heard (cringe) Donna way too many times in the 70s -- are y'all talking about the same Donna? Yikes...
