1979 Fall Vine Part One
Hey now,
In searching through all the tangles of vines that grace this site I found very few shows from 1979. I have some very quality soundboards from the fall tour of 1979. These shows absolutly rock.
The band sounds so energized with newbie Brent who has such a funky sound with his H-3 and Fender Rhodes. This transition type year for the Dead in which they were pushing Go to Heaven with a lot of Alabama Getaway's, extendo Althea's, but still jamming Passenger, 'Disco' Dancin' in the Streets, and Earth Shattering Other One's. These shows are filled with great 2nd set pre-drums jams that seemed to have a Caution type sound to them. Jerry and Brent seem to hang around well into drums during a lot of the shows.
If anyone is interested in this I have 6 shows that I think will proudly represent this period. I will divide these into two vines as they will be recorded on CDR's and I don't want to send 18 discs.

Hi,
Had this vine for over a week, and the last few days have been spent trying to copy the last disc of the 11/9 Buffalo show. Nero kinda freezes up early in the process, during the "scanning for subindices" before it actually starts copying, on two different CD burners. When I tried to copy it here at work with Roxio it gets all the way to the last 3 Mb before choking up. Looking back at prior posts I don't see anybody before me having problems, and looking at the disc I don't see any cracks or scratches.
Anyway, I give up. Sending this out to stuman tomorrow.
Cheers,
Mark
