Fantasy Dead

By suggestion, since the Obama reunion topic is now a hotbed of discussion on the proper guitarist for the gig.

Here's the scenario: for whatever reasons seem good to them, Bob, Billy, Mickey and Phil decide to play some gigs together.

Who's the rest of the band?

You guys are right,

I would love to see Bruce and the grand piano on tour with the boys. That would be a delight. I am with you, Trevor, you deserve to see this show and so do other deadheads. Hope it all happens for you guys. You deserve a chance to jump aboard the vista cruiser and have the boys take you all on a spin.

Right on Trevor

I'm with you on that one brotha. I'll be grateful for whoever they put up there with them because you know it'll be sweet. As long as we're talking lineups: Kimock and/or Greene & Bruce would be nice to round things out. They'd make for some nice harmonies. I heard an Attics the other night by Ratdog that sounded straight off American Beauty. They can definitely still sing as long as they put the right personnel in front of the mic.

I dont really care

Im sure that the dead will pick someone grate. I would be perfectly happy with Warren Ive always enjoyed hearing him play with the dead in the past, but who ever they pick its not gonna make me any less excited about this whole thing.

Its completely understandable that some people are unhappy about the whole Obama thing but actually its making me a little sick to my stomic that so many people could be anything less than extatic about another dead tour. I wasent lucky enough to of been there when they were at their best and if there is a 09 summer tour im gonna get as much as I can out of it. Im not gonna let anyone ruin what Ive been praying for for years now.

Be grateful for what the Dead are hopefully going to be giving us....

Peace and Love to you all,
Trevor

For musicians among the living...

... I think Joe Walsh on lead guitar would be totally groovy. The man can play, plain and simple. Or if's Joe's too busy with another overpriced Eagles tour, I'd like to suggest Harvey Mandel. Does anybody remember Christo Redentor? Obviously Jerry left a rather large pair of shoes to fill, but I've heard these guys many times, and I know they would do a fine job of the task at hand. You asked, I suggested... Keys I would suggest the man: Melvin Seales, dude can play. I'd even give Donna a second crack at it, or would that be too weird?

Trane and Miles and Beethoven

I too have dreamed of the band jamming with Trane and Miles and maybe doing a Beethoven symphony, or how about something by Stravinsky.

I also would like to see them let loose with John McLaughlin and break open some minds.

Damn

Had a great fantasy line-up post, and tried to post it but it vanished.

If we're going the fantasy line-up

direction marye-why not go ALL the way. Ludwig Von, and a mean Dead 5th Symphony into Terrapin. China Doll into Moonlight Sonata. Or perhaps Mozart on keys would be more suited to the China Doll.
