By suggestion, since the Obama reunion topic is now a hotbed of discussion on the proper guitarist for the gig.
Here's the scenario: for whatever reasons seem good to them, Bob, Billy, Mickey and Phil decide to play some gigs together.
Who's the rest of the band?
I have had a long talk with my family and i will end my retirement and make myself available for the tambourine duties should the boys be in need of my humble services. ( I have spent many hours practicing some new beats and various spins with open designs. ) I'm ready!
"Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams to another land"
Sob. And to think, it could have been "Drums/Space/Clarinet".\\\ Such a loss.
If/when the Deadsters get back together they ought to see about getting Joan Osborne involved. Saw her with Phil and Friends a couple of years ago, she's awesome.
i once had a flash that benny goodman beamed the same way jerry did when they were playing music...
i was 1st and just had to!! : )))
I've got dreams, dreams to remember
Oh, I've got dreams, dreams to remember.....
and yeah marye, benny works : )
like THAT's gonna last, with Deadheads involved. Although the dream lineup of those who have passed on, to say nothing of the setlist, might also be a lively topic... Benny Goodman!
gigi beat me to it hahahaha at least some one else is on the samp wave length!!!!!! very cool
put rob barraco on the keys n i think john kalecik from dso would b able to fill in for jerry as good as any one could!!! (~):-}
and the sweet voice of John Kadlecik of Dark Star Orchestra
that would work for me :)
oh yeah I can't wait....Hope the rumors are true and its in Philly and its not mucho $$$$$$$!
Damn, just when I was gonna suggest Miles Davis and Charlie Parker along with Jerry and His Pigness. Can't you just imagine Miles, Bird and Jer swapping fours on a Playin or Dark Star? My ears are melting just thinking about it. And what wouldn't we all give for just one more Pig Lovelight rap?
Sorry to blow the protocol. I'll shut up now.
Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.
Walter Becker and Donald Fagen joining Phil, Bob, Mickey and Billy.
Oh and Marye, Pigpen duking it out with Brent is kinda like Ali duking it out with my 12 year old daughter. I love my daughter, but I wouldn't put her in the ring with Ali. I enjoyed Brent, but come on!
