No edit or delete buttons

So there are no edit or delete buttons either, just like thre is no way to kill the account. So....once something is written here it is written in stone unless the all powerful want to delete it? Am I understanding this correctly?

By the way..

marye, when I look at YOUR profile, "user's recent posts" IS there. Just not on mine or pretty much anyone else's I've looked at.

new posts

The system obviously knows there are posts that I have not viewed yet in some topics under "All recent posts" , and none in others....
Can't it go directly to the new ones instead of the very beginning of every discussion?
And after you post a message, must it go back to day one of the discussion instead of just back to the post you just made?
Just wondering....
Having to scroll though the enitire history of a topic to view new posts could get quite cumbersome as the history grows.

user's recent...

Nope.. it's definitely not on mine. I'm using the ATT/Yahoo browser.
Yesterday I looked at the profile of someone who'd just introduced themselves and under their "website" was "N/A" (underlined) which I clicked, and THAT took me to 'user's recent posts'. But it didn't show up on the front page of their profile.
AIl that's on mine is 'shows attended', the "more" button just displays more shows.
Just for kicks I just tried putting "n/a" on the website space in my profile, of course it woudn't let me do that, it highlighted it red and didn't take.
lol... the location map on my profile puts me on the equator just off the coast of Camaroon. And I thought I was in California all this time.

Wendy, that's SO bizarre!

I swear, I'm seeing a perfectly normal User's Recent Posts on my profile too. Every bit as ill-behaved as izzie says, but there. Perhaps an obscure bug is involved here.

If the problem persists, please let us know (also what browser you're using and anything else you can think of that might be relevant) and we'll pass it to the wizards for examination...

Wendy - thanks for clearing that up for me and sorry for not getting it the first time! I have it on both of my accounts - it's under the Shows Attended section there on the right. Can anyone else let me know if they don't have that feature? It doesn't work great, and takes me back to where I'd last posted in a few forums, but that's something at least. I like using the All Recent Posts and sorting by Forum to see what is new for me that way.

and Mindbender - yeah, for now. Editing was a concern for the changing-history thing, and because it was hooked in the code with Reply and that was behind the weird chronology of posts issue that folks were asking about. It is being looked at and worked on though to see if the magic-fingered folks can find a way to do 30-minute editing or something without it messing anything else up. Bottom Line: it's a software thing.

"Recent posts"

Yes, but that shows ALL recent posts..
I'm talking about this..
"Hey now, Rose-- if you go to your own profile page (click My Account on the left there) you'll see a section on the right of that page called User's Recent Posts, which is a partial solution to the problem you're talking about. However, partial is the operative term, as my Recent Posts seem to reflect the reality of several days ago"

which was marye's answer to Rose's question about how to get back where you left off instead of having to scroll through the entire history (or click "last" and then scroll back) of a folder to get to things you haven't read yet. I'm not seeing "User's Recent Posts" on my profile or anyone else's. I did see it one time, on one profile, and haven't seen it since.

Hey now, Wendy. I'm not trying to be smartypants here, but look on the left menu area, under Dead Community. Is there not an All Recent Posts button, above Member Map? I have a non-mod account here (shhhh.....) and I have that feature, so I'm thinking everyone else does too. Am I crazy?
