Grateful Dead

"Heynow, Heynow,." Dr. John Vine 1972-1985

started by Oroboros

This is a single flac DVD that will unbundle to 13 CDs. (Sorry no wav CDs) Sources include soundboards, radio broadcasts, and audience recordings, and you can see special guests often sit in with the Doctor for some bayou boogie and to help spice up the gumbo.
FYI- Dr. John is trade-friendly and all these shows have been freely traded around (and recently landed at my house.)
Dr. John's studio CDs are legend, seek and ye shall find 'em.

reviews

Sound quality (the AUD A- or SBD A etc) I grade purely on the actual sound quality of the recording. For the performance grade (Good, VG, Great etc), it is tough to quantify, I guess it is just how good I feel the show is. I think all the things you mention, crowd,, energy, etc, factor in somewhat. I try not to let the setlist affect the grade. In fact, I've given shows high grades where I don't really care for the setlist. I think band energy is probably the key factor.

Thanks dstache

For your reviews, they are much valued. So do you grade them off of recording/sound quality, setlist quality, show/crowd/energy/vibe quality or all of the above? I always wondered but have never asked.
