This goes to the swastika building in Corando. first off of course "hmm interesting" did not know this. First thought from some posts here were, the - where, why, what and location. Hmm navy base west coast, swasika. Psycological warfare to any attackers to that are during second wpurld war. only really touchable by air. whaen was this building built and what was the purpose. Barracks, Headquarters May ward of air attacks from axis powers, Japanese or German. If so good idea. Did some google of course, read som e cool comments. German POW's transported to the US, did many construction projects. maybe design of was overlooked, konow for a fact have seen and been in many biuldings constructed during that time that have significant historical, well significance. On Ft Leonard Wood, MO there is a biulding which was a field hose, basically a huge gymnasium. constructed by german pow's. the roof is a one of a kind huge self suppoting arch constructed of a fine network of rafters. Was a one time scheduled for destruction but county, state and federal historical societies stopped it. Raised in a carpenter cabinetmaking family was quite impressed. If someone thinks there may be some conspiracy theary there for the swastika building. I don't think so. Anyway thanks for sharing ang have me learn something I didn't know and exercise my mind and stimulate learning. Yeh for inspiration.
... The World, then all the world would be like between Dead shows. Then there would be lots of musical events that people would drive their car to and there would be a parking lot scene. Then there would be a show. Then there would be the aftermath. Then people would go to the next show. Or some would go home. Then there would be the between show time again. Then some people would get sick of the scene all together and do something interesting and then come back, or not.
This would go on for a period of time and take the place of mental health therapy. Eventually, the whole thing would become like a Rainbow gathering, divided up into no this or that according to people's preferences. There would be the main musical event and regional musical events on a regular touring schedule through the four seasons.
The effect of providing this kind of therapy instead of trying to correct people through jail or through a maze of professionals would be a healthy, stable, somewhat enlightened society that would expand consciousness (of course, some people need more help than others and their would be clinics and hospitals for them). There would be more freedom and tolerance.
Then reality would intervene and a bunch of greedy power-trippers would step in and control/monopolize the scene and nobody would use violence to stop them and the whole thing would come crashing down in an ugly way.
But we can dream....
Peace and Harmony would abide. There would be no wars, no recession, no perverts kidnapping and killing young kids, and no starving homeless people on the streets.
May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home... I Miss Jerry
anyone else who I offended. I have nothing against trailer parks. But I do get pissed at white trash meth-heads who come here and annoy folks and that was the point I was trying to make. lamagonzo had it right. I suppose this post will get deleted too. So much for freedom of speech when deadheads rule the world.
For your comment on the trailor park.
You spoke what I was thinking. I really have little tolerance for that elitist mindset.
I lived in one for a few years, it was a great way to not spend much money and live low on the consumption chain. It had been placed in what was once a pasture and before that midwest savannah, so It had Oak trees that were over 100 years old in the yard. There were many unique people there, some of whom were living the way they choose to do which was not to be a part of the system. In other words they were choosing a type of voluntary simplicity living there.
Not everyone wants to be a Yuppie.
If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.
The Sun would come a shinin on my backdoor someday. I would see that the grass is always greener either side of the hill. A Dark Star would not be something to be feared or pontificated. I would always have a place to lay my head. And it wouldn't matter if my cup was half empty or half full, because there would be another deadhead around the bend that has a cup of the same.
Will you come with me? Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!
I think Coronado is seperate from the mainland . . . and has that really wierd, "Swastika building" on one of the military bases. Just type "Swastika building Coronado" in Google images and you'll see what I mean.
Hence, the misunderstanding. La Jolla is connected to San Diego and I used to ride my bike from Clairemont all the time. Bicycle - not motorcycle . . . and I crossed no bridge to get there.
It's okay. Geography isn't everything.
And don't worry - admirals and generals aren't silly enough to be in charge. Young officers graduating from West Point, now maybe . . . IF (big if) they don't have that downright silly belief about property some people still have and Heinlein talks about in his book, "Farnham's Freehold". He totally covered it all man.
Good work. That - and of course his covering of nudity in the book, "The Door into Summer". Sunnydale Nudist Colony, man.
Yep. Sunnydale lol.
