As someone mentioned, I don't believe we don't have a topic for him either. But here it is now.
shake it, shake it, MARY-E
at the Rex thing in December, singing duets with Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
and I became a fan of Jackie's when I saw him live in his own band, (not with P&F) first.
never had heard his original stuff before, CD or otherwise, never seen him with Phil before that neither. went in totally blind not knowing what to expect and was incredibly impressed as was my old lady.
I am, of course, thrilled he plays with Phil and love him with that group, too.
yup, Hal, those Sugarees are sweeeet!!
not sure which one, but at least one of his albums, he plays all of the instruments except the drums. pretty cool.
when I saw and heard him sing Sugaree with Phil and Friends. Knocked me out. Then listened to one of his solo CDs and keep getting more impressed.
If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.
if you go to his website, you can hear some samples from the latest CD.
at least better sound quality than youtube, there are a handful of his live shows on archive . org, too, but the sound quality of those is pretty shakey from whatI heard.
to each her/his own if you dig him as much as I do, lilly.
he is a lot more versatile than the bits on his website suggest in my opinion.
AND he wears a cool pork pie hat!!
Checked out a few tunes from him on YouTube, and playings fine, but his voice don't knock my socks off in the slightest.
It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine
the numberof greene-heads is growing by leaps and bounds.
this kid is a freakin genious!
if you never seen him solo, GO!!!!
he plays lots of cool, small venues solo, he'll be on tour opening some Ratdog shows this summer, not to mention his worrk with Phil & Friends.
