The problems with comcast should hopefully be fixed. (fingers-crossed...)
And somewhat beside the point at that, but ... this is how my favorite DNC folder got started -- it was meant to be a place to deal with and give feedback on the login experience. From there it grew into a mighty fine place...
Ducking out now - that was your Today In Deadnet History Lesson for June 12 (or thereabouts). :)
Comcast email is a problem for more than just the dead.net verification. It seems they readily put senders on some sort of blacklist that prevents any of the sender's email to get through to any comcast account. Our work emails are blocked by Comcast. We've pleaded our case to them, but we haven't been able to get ourselves unblocked.
comcast addresses are especially prone to this problem.
The password return is pretty prompt.
There have been some (but clearly not "all", so don't jump on me all at once, please) folks using non-web-based emails that apparently are not getting the password email. Our own MaryE was among 'em even! If you suspect this is the case, we suggest creating a gmail account (or other web-baesd mail account) just to use here.
If you don't get the password within maybe 2 hours, and have checked your Spam, Bulk, Junk, Filtered, and/or Non-Inbox emails (and you don't automatically delete those things.... be careful there), drop a note to me and MaryE at deadnetmods@gmail.com and we'll try to track you down. Would be best, of course, if you used the email address you're trying to register from to send the email to us...
Several people over in DNC report having trouble logging in here.
At least one of those is someone who didn't receive the confirmation e-mail after registering.
What is the next step if one doesn't receive the confirmation e-mail, or if more than 24 hours have gone by since receiving it? (like, say, finding it later in one's SPAM trap.)

I think the login page should be secure (https), to prevent third-party interception of passwords.
