By suggestion: Congressman Barney Frank has introduced a bill that, in essence, would prohibit the feds from interfering with states' laws on medical marijuana. Let's discuss.

I am in favor of decrimanalization as opposed to leagalization because of taxes and regulation. I don't want to have to pay taxes and buy weed from RJ Reynolds plantations in Kentucky that will probably have immigrants providing the labor at less than minimum wage. Who knows what Big Tobacco will put in the product they grow and for sure they won't be growing for potency because of liability issues. On the other hand, I sure don't want to support criminal gangs importing large quantities.
Better to have a small, decenntralized group of growers supplying the market and pumping money into their own local economy. They grow with TLC. I know that with them the product I hold in my hand will the culmination of a labor of love.
Watch for the big harvest moon tonight!
I saw a special on TV last night about recent happenings in Arcata, CA.. It seems that a once peaceful place is turning into an armed camp with 1 out of 7 homes estimated to be "grow houses". This is what happens when a pot culture hits critical mass in a small geographic area. I think this is a place that would actually benefit from legalization to take the criminal element out of the picture.
It certainly is not just in California that this is becoming a big issue. I still believe decriminalization is the answer but the things that are happening are making me rethink that.
There are a lot of signs in Arcata that say Let It Grow. Indeed, but decentralize guys, so everybody doesn't feel justified packing heat.
