Anyone have any tips on parking for this show? Parking in this town is a nightmare without an event.
Thanks marye.
How do I get there from 'Topics'?
Finicula.
I've attended a couple of non-dead shows at JPJ and have not had trouble finding parking within a short walk to the arena. You can buy reserved parking passes online at the JPJ website http://www.johnpauljonesarena.com for $17.40 (shipping may be extra) which should guarantee a spot very close to the arena. Last time I was there for The Eagles and parked in a public parking garage for $10. It was a couple of blocks away, but a nice walk.
Concerns:
I'd expect the price to be higher this time, and the other shows don't have us Deadheads following them around. I don't know what time the Arena parking lots will open for the shows. I'd like to know if folks coming down from the DC show will be able to move in overnight or will have to wait until sometime the day of the show. I'm also not sure how much of the public parking in the area is used during the day and may not be availble to Deadheads until later in the day.
At any rate, I'm plannig to get there late morning/early afternoon on the day of the show and hope for the best. Good luck and safe travels to all.
