cumberlandblues- paarking is horrible in Charlottesville all the way around. There is a parking garage thats 24 hrs on Emmett Street called Newcombe Hall parking garage- its at UVa. It starts out at $2 an hr and then changes to lower amounts at certain times. Sometimes you can get a space in the office spaces near Blockbuster and Barracks Shopping Cntr but you do run the risk of being towed.
Parking at JPJ is outrageous.

I have been following the Dead and dead offshoot bands for 33 yrs so I am pretty old. I can't sleep outside. And I want to drink some cold ones. I only live 3 hrs away, in Norfolk
All I ask is for is a corner of the floor at at a hotel/motel local motel or frat house. I'LL buy some beer and pizza. I'll even chip in for the room if it is reasonable moneteray request.
Does anyone know if cameras are allowed in?
just got into town...not a straight street in town. if you are from out of town get here early just to find your way around. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
I saw on the JPJ website that parking passes cost $17.50. Will there be parking nearby for a reasonable price? Who has been to JPJ before?
If the lots open at 3pm, do you have to be parking there to get on the lot?

won tix from a radio station in richmond so stoked my woman and i were dying to go but are both unemployed anyhoo we need riders from and back to rich weds. or a ride some money not loaded by any means anyone interested post it we are mid thirties been to many shows i've toured she not really cool people i think :) lets hook up and go party riders or drivers. peace.

We ordered our tickets through the link on the Dead's website and got our tix last week. A friend of mine ordered through John Paul Jones website and has not received any tix as yet. She is obviously a little freaked as the show is in just five days. Have those of you who ordered tix through local outlets gotten them yet? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I'm not absolutely sure on this, but since this is Virginia and this is a state university arena my guess is there won't be any beer for sale. I plan on having quite a few before I go in!

According to the box office, personal cameras are allowed. I didn't expand on that, but I would take it to mean if you bring a DSLR with extra lenses they'll bounce it. That's the usual policy. If your camera is pro enough to make money with, they usually don't want it in.
I'm echoing the previous posters' questions about parking. I know nothing about JPJ.
