Yes, Phil and Bobby are bringing some of their pals to Oakland next month. Plan gatherings here.

I understand that one.

I'm still bummed

That I wasn't able to meet up with you all at Shoreline on Mothers Day. Never thought it would take almost an hour to get into the place!

I hope you get your mail order tickets!

yeah, Shoreline was bizarre

in that the venue operators had completely lost their collective memory of how to do a Dead show. It was shocking.

Mileage varies among my friends as to whether Bill is spinning in his grave or laughing and saying "See? I told you you couldn't do it without me!"

But since the Fox is run by Another Planet and those guys are pretty much the true heirs of BGP I expect a much pleasanter experience this time around.

Watch out though. Oakland has an evil new parking policy where the meters cost $2 an hour and run till 8.

I'll try to make it this time

Without getting arrested b4 the shows...I have my HS reunion at the same time. Looking forward to it.

Grateful Dead night at Askenaz This Thursday

An hour or two of great live music before the tapes spin in earnest. A lot of fun and a warm up to Bob in Mill Valley.

we've got Friday and Sunday. I'm not absolutely sure I'm going to both because I am a geezer and can't take the late nights any more, but I have a feeling I won't be able to resist.

And like gankmore says, if you're in town early, check out the Ashkenaz, which is in my opinion the nicest small venue we've got in these parts, and has a really great dance floor.

four days...

and counting!

Where???

avatar

are we meeting up??? break time lobby?? Any other suggestions??? We should all be in by then........

Yeah, let's meet at the break

avatar

and the lobby is probably good--have you been there before? Is there any particular spot in the lobby that's nice and obvious?

I hope you all
