Music for Transition to the Other World

In another topic, JaimeAlphaMale inquired:

If your ascent to the other world or your ascension Back had A Grateful dead song playing what would it be?

And hey, that question seems to deserve its own topic. So...

And am in pain in my ears and suffering

from this most awful and enthusiastic band. Is coming down my street directly in a minute or two, judging from the crowd outside my window right now. And the sound of the drum plague is getting closer. Think will take a photo this time, when the Virgin comes by again.

The Music outside

my window right now is taking me to another world alright, but just don't know WHICH other world yet. A vivid reminder that Spain still must be a very Catholic world perhaps. There is a parade going on, that started at the church right across the street. The people started gathering few hours ago, dressed in their finest Sunday 12 euro suits. Really eye popping, some of 'em, Went out to buy some groceris and saw a poster-is a procession for "The Virgin of Pain and Suffering. When coming back from the store, I got to see the Virgin float coming out of her garage/home, while some of the spectators fell to their knees. Paving the way for the Virgin coming out for some air, are guys swinging these things on chains that contain insence. Depriving the spectators of theirs. The air just reeks of this insence (sp?)-very thick and heavy. Cough cough. There are horses and carriages, with drivers in typical andalucian wear following her. The oldest of women are crawling on their knees, on the street behind the float. Perhaps that is how the Virgin cures their pain?? And the BRASS BAND is truly mind-blowing. Mind blowingly awful. Sounds like everyone is playing a different tune altogether, and for sure at a different tempo. Shaking the surrounding buildings with their enthusiasm, but severly lacking in talent-this band of about 60 strong lungs. Sousa meets a Zorro film soundtrack is the best way I can describe this incredible music. The drums are playing a funeral marching kind of thing, and like the horns-playing very individual rhythms and tempo.

hate to break it to you, folks

but if you're a deadhead worth his/her salt,

you have ALREADY transitioned to "the Other World".

I wouldn't expect too much of a change, 'cept you won't find
the donna haters there, or any other haters, for that
matter. you may 'lose your boots in transit' but that's about it.

In any case, I'll take the passage from my first show, 7-31-74

To Lay Me Down, Truckin' -> Mind Left Body Jam -> Spanish Jam -> Wharf Rat

That oughta do me fine. one of the most beautiful passages of
music in our time, for beautiful passages of any kind.

'wake up to find out, that you are the eyes of the world'

just don't want you to get your hopes up for fireworks or
anything :) : ) f.i.

Terrapin - if it's the end or beginning...

Is it the end or is it a new beginning? The situation would soon unfold and one would know.
