In another topic, JaimeAlphaMale inquired:
If your ascent to the other world or your ascension Back had A Grateful dead song playing what would it be?
And hey, that question seems to deserve its own topic. So...
the whole "Anthem Of The Sun" album...
if'n I had to pick one, I'd pick "That's It For The Other One"
If you have a chance read the biblical references in the on-line annotated lyrics.
I think Eyes of the World would be my intial choice, but get me some time to think about and I may have to change my mind.
I for one have documented and made quit known to all my loved ones that the Parade procession will be Brokendown Palace and Ripple as they scatter me ashes!! I have allowed them to create their own set list for the after party!!!
to see whats coming or going...
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
I actually had an out of body experience after being hit by a drunk driver but I don't remember any music. If life and death is a cycle then I guess it would need a wheel.
Ripple. for my comings or goings, I'd want a sweet soft Ripple.
interesting question!
Or Caution, Eleven (Yes I still go there, even after all these years) it must have lots of energy, Actually any show pre 78 will do me just fine. And yeah, aren't early Dark Stars a given on any head list?
I haven't done drugs for almost 30 years. 1979 for the herbifumaceous stuff, 1973 for chemicals. But listening to A.O.T.S. gets me off as good as any of those ever did. And at the end of the entire piece, I'm forced, once again to go... whew!, just as I did when I got high, way back when.
Must be the arrangements of the notes, or the musical structure that sets off chemical changes in my brain. What ever it is... it works!
It's hard to believe there could be anything better - transportation-wise - than "Dark Star", but Anthem truly is the place to go. It represents the moment of their legacy - so chrystal-clear, absolute inspiration. Gotsta agree w/ ya, Siebsmeister. Right on! To the sun and back again! Brilliant! Alligator...
"From day to day, just lettin' it ride,
You get so far away from how it feels inside,
You can't let go, 'cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all."
