Mark and Hal

You guys seem to be really handy with words, could you please work together and write a draft of the new vines header then get it off to marye for posting?

In addition to the request to look at the vindex I would also suggest a short look at

This is "The Grateful Dead Family Discography" a very powerful resource of already released music.

Thanks everyone.

Marye that sounds great!!

I feel and I assume most here do too, that the decision on how these vines are handled is ultimately up to you. You are OUR moderator and you do a great job, and we don't want to stress you out. Keep up the great work that you do.

Happy vining everyone!!

sounds just exactly perfect marye

That is what I was thinking when I started up this conversation. But how about if people have some general comment regarding vines that they can post that under new vines (like we have with this discussion), that way all the viners will see it.

If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

Can the header content be changed after the topic is opened?

Settling on the "mechanics of vining" might go through a revision or two.

Sound's great to me. I like

Sound's great to me. I like the idea of the basic instructions in the opening section. And I can see it would be much easier for you marye if the sign up's were after the topic is posted. I thank Hal for pointing this out, really wasn't thinking about it from that angle, and as alway's, thank you marye for your continued time and energy spent to help the garden bloom. A beautiful and selfless act of kindness. ;))

okay, re new topic

If I'm understanding correctly...

1. The new topic should contain basic instructions in the opening section. Basic instructions including the mechanics of vining, the work-it-out-amongst-yourselves-when-things-go-awry exhortation, and a plea to check the Vindex before proposing a new vine.

2. Given the technical constraints we're dealing with, for the time being we're kinda stuck with me starting the topics.

3. It would make my life MUCH easier if people would refrain from signing up for vines till they have their own topic. When we have these energy bursts and I'm trying to untangle six vines, it gets a little gnarly.

4. If people would do that, I would probably get the new vines turned around faster, so it's a win-win I think.

Thoughts?

Sunshine Daydream (Veneta '72)

Stuman, I hate to rain on your parade, but while this is certainly one of the most bootlegged videos in history, the fact is that it IS still copyrighted (I'd have to look, but I suspect Zane Kesey's involved) and it kind of crosses the line.

As with any number of things, what you guys do privately amongst yourselves is yours to decide, but as far as vining Sunshine Daydream in the public space on the official site, for a number of reasons I can't do it. Any number of people have toiled behind the scenes for years to get it released; I can't speak to whether that will ever happen but I sure hope so.

The 1967 TV clips are less problematical, in my view anyway.
