Been wiating for that video for a long time - can't wait to see it - vintage stuff!
Yep, I too agree it is time to bounce to "Vines Oh Nine". Marye - I know you get many accolades out here and here's a few more - thanks so much for all your help and generosity keeping this thing going for us all. And it's a bonus that you are a SF Bay Area member of the family and I am sure we were at a show or 10 together at some time.
To the rest of the gang out here - you are all great and it's a blast to do this music thing we do with y'all...happy vining trailsssssss in 2009....
"when life looks like easy street, there is danger at your door"
Or New Vines 2009 or whatever. Topic is getting kinda big. Waiting for a vine to have it's own topic might make it easier on marye, but being A Goddess she hasn't complained yet ;^)
Having an introduction to vining primer in the header is a good idea too, LTAPilot, I've been meaning to suggest something like that for a "New Viners" forum but this place has enough topics already. Wasn't sure what kind of things to including the in vining guidelines, didn't want them to sound like "rules" which would be harsh. Call them the "It would be kind if you could..." (send your address ahead of time, for example) and "It would be kind if you didn't..." (disappear and take five vines with you, for example)
Now, if we could only make folders to organize PMs, I've got like 1500 of 'em now. I've got to start deleting stuff...
Cheers, gotta burn...
(halfway done, baby, halfway done)
I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com
I love this place. It has turned to be a great outlet for me and my desire to obtain new shows. It has also been great to be able to interact with everyone here. I hope to continue vining for a long time.
I never meant to say that we should not vine here or we should need to move to some where else. My lock comment was in response to mayre's concern that this thread is 52 pages long, 500+ messages and probably beginning to be a drag on the database that runs this site. We need to roll it over into a new thread.
I truly enjoy coming here and seeing how we all are doing. Some of the story's bring back great memory's.
Ted was talking about his many long years of trading, which is real cool. I never was hooked into those circles, so a couple of years ago I started looking around and found this place. Received a couple of vines and then that pushed me into exploring other places. Thankfully I have been blessed with a fair amount of bandwidth and now I find great joy in finding shows and sharing them. Enough rambling I have to get back to work.
This is something that I have been waiting for quite some time.
Now I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, all over again.
Wonderful stuman! Thanks for sharing this, the playboy video is absolutly surreal.
That sounds awesome Stuman!! I love the field trip show.
I will post more imfo on this when Marye find it a home . I would put it here but it may take up quite a bit of space .. set lists and short story`s ect..
I have a video i would like to put out , as my very first seed .. this video contains news footage
and interviews of the Dead back in the day. the Height Ashbury drug raids of "67" . Live street preformances ,breif appearence of the Hell`s Angles and thier involvment, ect ect. then we go to 1969 for a short but very nice show at The Playboy mansion,
then off to 1972 The old renisaunce fairgrounds at Venita Oregon, yes this is the same show that is being vined now but the video.. all this on one disc easy to copy, sounds very well considering the age of the original films.. all in all a very nice history lesson for those of us who were not there and a re-fresher for those who were there .. IMO this is very nice ..
sign up fast .. " Grateful Dead "67-72" video "... I really hope everyone enjoys this ,, a gone through quite a few dvd`s to get it just right ..
but as was said before, it's Marye that needs to decide.
If we lock this topic & have a static new vines post (one that somehow could staty at the top of the list) that contains instructions - and those instructions include how to start a vine, then theoretically, Marye's job would become much simpler - but, we would lose the interaction & banter we have in the new vines area. all of that would be pushed down to the vines themselves or other areas of the site. It's a trade off, but one that only Marye can decide on - much of what we do in the new vines area probably belongs elsewhere anyway.
