get to see Billy at the fair yesterday? How was it?
My vote for most cosmic venue. Made the show in 82 and the Fair in 97 when touring with the Tibetan monks as stage manager. A very beautiful place to commune with nature and people of like mind. It is magical in more ways than one. Liberty caps are plentifully found there at the right times. Eugene public transit used to provide a free bus from the city out there. Don't know if they still do but it sure is nice when everybody is on the same wavelength. I highly recommend anybody who can make it to go. We could have us a high time livin' the good life!"
every year I swear I'm going and every year something comes up to keep me away. Usually money, as well as family get-togethers. I wasn't there in '72, but I was there in '82, and as far as I'm concerned there's no more perfect spot on earth.
Shoulda been there in 72. All Day in blazin sunlight with the New Riders opening with Jerry on pedal steel, folks sky divin in, even ol' uncle Pat Janelli in his Shakey's straw hat, and a paper mache trash suckin elephant. 3 long sets stretched into the night with a nearly unending Casey Jones. Some kind of gettin it on day!
I have been going since 1992 when I first moved out west and been on traffic crew since 1998. I will be there every year I am alive and the fair is still going on

back in 1990 i happened to be in the area and went to the OCF. i had had a powerful psychedelic experience at the beach a day or two earlier, and the OCF was simply too much for me to handle. I haven't had a chance to attend since, but would LOVE TO eventually.
First post here. This is a good jumping in point for me.
My wife and I are hardcore about the fair. It's our only "every year no matter what" road trip.
It's all that was good about chasing the dead and virtually none of the bad.
Awesome music and performances everywhere and all those blissed out familiar faces!
My 7 yo boy LOVES it. We camp at Zumwalt which is perfectly suited for families.
Hope to see you there next year!
Post reports here! I am most bummed to be missing this, but it just can't be done...
Well worth the trip. The grounds crackle with psychedelic energy. So much creativity and joy! My wife and I have been going for at least eight years. Come if you can. If you have any questions email me.
