I dont think anyone knows if the dates are right. I have some similar tapes of Garcia trying out new songs that eventually became Workingmans Dead. If I ever figure out where or when they were recorded I will post them.

The Grateful Dead took a break between Minneapolis (18th) and D.C. (23rd) so I guess it is possible? Jerry was a busy dude that's for sure.. "I've stayed in every blue-light cheap hotel. Can't win for tryin. Dust off those rusty strings just one more time. Gonna make em shine."

last night I was listening to the "10-21-70" disc from this vine and thinking (dangerous thing to do after getting back from the bar, I know). First of all, the date is almost surely incorrect, since the Dead were on tour on the EAST COAST for pretty much all of October and November of 1970. And this is likely a tape from the Tuesday Night Jams at the Matrix that were common in those days, and 10-21-70 fell on a Wednesday. The player line-up doesn't sound right, either. There's a drummer here, and nobody listed played drums that I know of. Also, 2 bassists (Casady and Freiberg) seems unlikely, although maybe Freiberg was on keyboards this night, or they were trading off songs or something. I don't know that anybody here (or anywhere) can shed some light on this, just thought I'd pass along my thoughts. Regardless of what the actual date was or who was playing, this is one to put in the cd player and just let the music play.

from Pink Roberts sources. (upgrades from the original vine) I think the "David and the Dorks" shows are lost. I will probably add the Perro tapes companion vine with it.

I sent a copy to John and a copy to Europe for Sunshine Daydream. They now consist of one dvd with flac files and three cd-r's. Two cds of the Perro tapes and another with outtakes of David Crosbys " If I Could Only Remember My Name". This is the resulting album from all the Perro sessions. I also included some cool pics from Wally Heider's recording studio (some of Jerry and the Perro recording set up) Enjoy!

Gee, I remember my daughter at 2. My mom and dad loved it when the Dead were doing Bay Area shows cuz we'd leave her with them for a day or two.My daughter is thirty-one now. She was Associate Director for External Relationships at Duke University until recently. Last Friday her four year old son, my grandson, while visiting his grandmother, ran into a clothing rack. His eyelid was slit in three places leaving the part with the eyelash laying halfway down his cheek. It was a two hour drive from her home to the grand mothers home/hospital. Monday her boss/neighbor who hired her away from Duke three months ago told her the business was failing and he was laying his last three hires off. She is now unemployed. Last night her husband dropped her iphone and shattered it. As stressful as I know all this has got to be she says, "Ain't none of it death, just life." Enjoy that two year old, Don .....how does this song go?

This package of mesmerizing sessions will be heading out in tomorrow's mail. I added back in the following 3 pieces, to make the set complete once again. "David and the Dorks" "Jefferson Airplane House 10-28-69" "Matrix Tuesday Night Jam Sessions 10-21-70" The package now comes as 3 audio CDs, along with 1 DVD and 2 CDs of flac/shn files. BTW ... the DVD contains some surprises from the the CSNY universe. Haven't listened yet, but they sure look to be worthy! 27. tdub547 >>> OUT 28. Island Girl 29. stepineden72 30. 31. Enjoy!

So JakeR pm'd me yesterday requesting the Perro Tapes Vine but I see forgot to put his name on the list. I edited him in. If he hadn't pm'd me I wouldn't have known youse guys were looking for this. I LIKE chocolate. Chocolate Lady, pm JakeR and let him know you want this. Do not mail the vine on to iGrateful until you pm him that you are ready to mail it to him and he responds. Stuff happens and vines die all to easily. 29. stepineden72 30. JakeR 31. The Chocolate Lady 32. iGrateful

I've searched through over 5 TB of music and cannot locate this. Next thing to do is look thru my DVDs and see if I put it on one of those but that will take some time. If anyone could reseed this I believe that would work best.

I signed up for this vine years ago and have continuously looked for PERRO related material. I am surprised to find that once in awhile I get reminded of something that has the same vibe, cross over musicians as the PERRO sessions.

This came up recently when I realized that all of the following have moments that feel very PERRO-esque and of course contain many of the musicians involved in PERRO

Baron Von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun
Blows Against The Empire
Rolling Thunder

Are there other studio or RIOS recordings that I should add to my ever evolving PERRO playlist?

Thanks

H
