Thank you, Tony.

A Time for Healing...
I crossed the bridge into the city,
my mind again amazed at how pretty...
Those oddly flavored downtown streets,
walkin along, the same old Vans on my feet...
I scan the faces, for red curls, above the shoulders of the crowd,
then I realized, to do this, I'm not allowed...
Then I see my old friend,
and he says,"Hey NOW! come right in..."
Ahhh, the familiar history in my face,
the kind aura of this treasured place....
The house that Bay Art created,
a place where our feelings are truly inflated...
I stood inside the warm halls just gazing,
at these walls of artist that are so amazing...
My heart cried tears of joy,
I was so lucky to be here now to enjoy...
I soon got this relieving feeling,
as the music started, I was already healing...
With only love flowing through my veins,
the past was smudging away, as quickly as it came...
I no longer looked around for you,
for me, to be whole,
remembering,
only MY heart,
and love for myself,
can soothe MY soul...
I flowed like the ocean winds along the North Coast,
thanks to the sounds of our definitive and persistent host...
Oh, Thank you, Thank you Father Time,
for teaching my soul,
how to forgive,
and again how to live,
and Thank you again,
Gracious Mr. Phil,
for helping us,
to love, to grow,
and mostly,
for helping,
us all,
to Heal...

(The following is for entertainment value only)
Phil's bands - vs - Ratdog:
John Molo would pulverize Jay Lane into a fine powder and snort him (Mickey too for that matter);
Who plays bass for the Dog? Need I say more?
Kimock was replaced by Phil, at least once;
Jeff will probably be in Phil's band, at one point or other;
Ditto for Kenny (and Bobby).
Sleep well Dogheads!

Wow! Thanks Hal and marye! "Heading for the Hills" is on my list. As painful as it was to do, I decided to close my NetFlix account and devote the money elsewhere (Phil's concerts & downloads, other CD's and Sirius Radio are the top priorities). I love Emmylou, especially as a special guest. She can really add a nice texture to vocals. Thanks again.

Really, do not miss this stuff. The most recent collection, Heading for the Hills, is the only one I've got, but there is not a bad track on it and the guest artistes (Emmylou Harris! Gillian Welch!) are to die for. Jim Lauderdale has a voice like an old shoe, but it works really well with Hunter's lyrics.
Teamed up together for the CD Headed For The Hills, you can still get it. Hunter wrote the lyrics for all of the songs, I believe. Hunter also wrote lyrics to some of the songs for Zero.

I agree Hal. R. and I also had the great fortune to meet him several times, twice in Washington, D.C. at the old Cellar Door venue and once in Carlisle, PA. We (my best fiend and I) tried to get him to come to a party some friends were having nearby after his show in Carlisle - kind of embarrassing thinking back on my mentality, in those daze. He was so cool to us, though! Hunter says (as he was putting his guitar in the trunk of his car), "Well I'd love to come to your party but I've got to drive a bazillion miles and get this rental car back before they charge me another day..." We just stood there, in the parking space vacated by his car and saluted him as he drove away (we didn't know what to do, we were just kids then, really). I can't imagine what he must have been thinking, ha-ha. Those were "grateful daze", indeed.
Also, I'm not familiar with the Jim Lauderdale CD of which you speak. Could you elaborate please?

Same here GRTUD, he isn't posting on his site very much. I think he's writing. This week I just got a broadside of Ripple I am going to frame and a copy of his book Idiot's Delight. I had the pleasure of shaking his hand at one of his shows. That is an honor, just like having that dollar bill that the good Dr. Hunter Thompson signed. Not often in life does one get to interact with one's heros, one of the great lyric voices of our time. Have you heard the Jim Lauderdale CD he wrote the lyrics for?
