I'm not good at writing reviews but here goes. These 3 shows were spectacular. They exceeded my already high expectations of a P&F show. I can't recall the last time I experienced such an exploration in sound and jams. They teased and teased for 3 straight days. You never knew what direction they were going to take next. Almost every song had some insane jam before or during it. I felt like Warren was on a mission, even though there is no reason for him to, he was out to prove something I swear! Like I said earlier, Scofield took them to the far spaces of exploration, maybe not even realizing it, but he did it!! Phil fist bumped, high fived and hugged him all weekend, you could just tell he was loving the trip Scofield was taking them on. We all know what Russo and Chimenti bring, I was so happy that Jeff jumped on board for this run!! Jackie was great and is the ultimate utility player .. he was on guitar, the keys and my favorite were his banjo parts particularly Cumberland. Magic Bus was right up his alley.
Thursday had all the "hits" and when they opened up with Shakedown you knew this band meant business. Set the tone for the whole run. SOTM and Just a Little light to end the 1st set was so Jerry and so Brent all in 2 songs.
Friday was my favorite night, to me this was Warren's night. Loose Lucy>Ball and Chain>She Said to end the 1st set and the ripping Passenger 2nd set opener along with that unexpected Low Spark, Caution, another unexpected one in the Walrus and finally that gorgeous Dew were all Warren at his best!!! I could have swore they were going into Foxy Lady inside that group of songs as well! Man oh man what an incredible night that was!!
Hell Saturday was grateful too! The whole 1st set was just a rocking good time. But the song of the weekend (other than Dew of course) may very well could have been Layla. Wow!! God that awesome!!
Thanks so much for stopping by Colorado with your friends Phil. God bless you!
Anyone find my little woven tray of rocks at the Saturday Broomfield show?
-Last seen near the north entrance just about showtime...
I'd like to get back the terminated Pink Tourmaline and would gladly share some other stones as a reward..
Many Blessings to all and
for an Amazing show.
Anyone venture a review of the 3 Phil shows? Jackstraw from CO was in attendance
: who else? I did not go but wish I had. Missed out on some good skiing too.
I've downloaded the 2nd and 3rd nights, but haven't critiqued any yet.
Well Mike, I took your advice, deciphered the torrent and have been crankin' 2/17:
Loose Lucy smokes! Workin my way down the setlist. Can't wait to hear what goes on tonight!
Is taking the band and us to places never before explored... and so glad Jeff hopped on the bus as well.
Can't wait for another dose of these guys!
Shows in Broomfield so far. What a blast! These guys are knocking the socks off us all. WOW.. God bless Warren, boy did I miss him. The Dew had me about bawling like a baby. One more Saturday night!
I'm less patient than you, Gr8fulTed. I went straight to last night's show, the set list of which I could not resist; Warren's soaring with the Dew in my house right now, ringing peals of righteous lightning, while Phil plunders thunder's blunderless imperfections; not what we had before, a new thing, both familar and strange:
1st Bank Center
Broomfield, CO 2/17/12
Eyes Of The World
Like A Ball And Chain
She Said She Said
New Speedway Boogie
Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

Thanks Mike: I'm listening to the first of 3 shows, on archive.org.
Standing on the Moon brings tears to my eyes. Great catcall after the bass riff.
Looking forward to hearing Dark Star from 2/17.
And here's an archived stream from last night:
Edit: bt.etree.org has both shows up already; here's a link to last night:
I haven't seen any music from 2/16/12 up on LMA, yet....
