hm, Primus...

Not ENTIRELY off topic, as there was Oysterhead (and as I recall I have Aud to thank for sending me their first show).

I have to say I do not understand Les Claypool one bit, but I sure do like him.

yeah, it's true, it seems

yeah, it's true, it seems the drugs have taken their toll... not ONLY on phish, but on a few other bands as well.

but, to me, i just hear the music... forget the drug habits, the egos, etc...

i didn't see a phish show until '96... by then, many hardcore fans were saying they had "sold-out". i have a few hundred phish shows archived- from the 80's to the last one... i still think my favorite era was around '95-'97 ("sold-out" or not), it seems they really started jamming things out about that time.

i never did care as much for the phish lot scene... way too much "ME" attitude among a lot of the young kids. the dead scene was always SOOO much cooler. but, the music was still what drew me in.

trey can jam... can't argue with that.

Sad.......

Let me first start off by saying Phish is one of my favorite bands ever (After Zepp, Primus and GD) and for a short time 98-04 they WERE my GD in terms of the whole tour-family thing......I went on my first tour in 98 (Drove to Portland from Chi-Town) and I respect them all as amazing musicians....BUT TREY MADE ME KINDA MAD!!!!! You say you broke up Phish because the bad drugs were taking it's toll (Thats what you get for smoking coke and doing smack) but yet you continued to do bad drugs after the band was done....The arrest was funny....But sad....That chapter of my life is closed in my mind...I saw some of the sickest shows ever, but that time has passed....I know there will be the reunion...Will I go?, who's to say...I can't even remember the last time I dusted off the collection...In my mind, the band splitting up was the best thing ever because I was able to go back to the Dead with a whole new attitude...Im older now and the Dead just makes so much more sense to me at 29 than when I was 14 and got my first copy of 77 Cornell....

Phish will someday return in my life (I have like 90 shows on CD) but Im SOOOO Grateful im buried in the Dead right now.......

yeah, iz...i had to go

yeah, iz...

i had to go slightly off the DTB thread, to list the last phish show... not that they also had many other notable sets...

but that last show (i have a copy), when trey gets kinda emotional about the whole strange trip that was the phish...

pretty memorable.

(EDIT- also, don't want ya to think i'm disrespectin' the DTB either... they be jammin' too.)
