Thanks to SirX1970 for suggesting this topic.

Sooner or later, we're all in some kind of trouble and need the good thoughts of our brothers and sisters. Whether you call 'em good vibes, prayers, Wellbeams, or something else, this is the place to ask for 'em and send 'em.

Right before the sun woke me up this morning by beaming right into my face, I was dreaming that my grandma had died. Was no freaky thing in itself to dream that, as she is old, had suffered a stroke, and had given up living. Stopped eating last week, so seems that she had decided it is her time.

Opened my e mail box to find two mails from my mother called "Marie" (is my step-grandma so had always called her that, even though I knew her since I was 10). Before I even opened the mails, I knew what my mother was writing to me.

THEN had another mail from my sister, telling me that our nephew overdosed last night. Is thankfully alive, but barely. Is on his way to rehab, once he recovers.

So I am asking for good and peaceful thoughts, for both of these people on their voyage that is ahead of them. That Marie has a peaceful trip into whatever happens next, better that she is free of suffering; and that Josh will use his visit to rehab effectively, and get on with a heroin-free life.

Garciagirl,
I wish your Miles all the best, and am crossing my fingers real hard that he will not have to suffer surgery.

Some good energy for you too, so that you can be strong for him. He is lucky that he chose someone so caring to be his mother.

Also thank you for bringing the matter of infant scoliosis to our attention. You are SOOO right that is something that all new parents need to insist that infants are tested for.

god bless carol

keeping you in my prayers dont be afraid tobe scared in humane nature to have feelings

Thanks guys. We will be making our 4 mo. visit to PA. on Aug 13, and will find out whats in store for Miles. I so appreciate the good wishes, it means alot.
Chris-- positive thoughts to your friend Carol. Just having ONE person such as you is so important to her recovery. keep posting.
Tigerlilly-- I have seen the downside of addiction with someone EXTREMELY close to me, but please know this too, Ive seen the upside of recovery as well. It seemed hopeless, but its all in the timing. I hope most that your nephew is READY. Once he is ready ( and the OD could be the begininng) really ready...wonderous things can happen. My person found recovery only in losing what he held dearest ( us). My person happens to be my husband. Fast forward to now. Seven years clean, and living a happy, healthy, full life--the family in tact. With the right support, it CAN happen. My prayers to him that he will find his path back to health. Gratefully, he has you! Keep posting, and thank you for your kind words. I will post about Miles when we return.
Best to all-----Garciagirl.

Josh's gone missing

The nephew that I was talking about in the post about journies has disappeared. He overdosed last week, then his mother released him from the hospital 2 days later as she "could not stand to see him like that" (she is nuts) instead of sending him to rehab as was originally intended. He disappeared with absolutely nothing but the clothes on his back. If anybody in Florida (will post the city as soon as I know it, by tomorrow hopefully) runs into a lost young man called Josh Shepard, please let me know. He is normally a charming boy, and is tall, thin blond, and 18 years old. I know is a long shot, but you never know. His father is in Belgium, and his other Aunt and I here in Germany are worried sick about him. Perhaps this is the wrong thread? Perhaps I should put this in the looking for, or even the Wharf Rats section???

yikes, Tigerlilly, I'm so sorry!

I think this is a fine place to post. I hope Josh thinks better of this and comes home safe and sound.

I'd say In Search Of is a good place to post this also.
