Is the Rainbow gathering still a thing? Is it worth it?
28 arrested at 'Rainbow Family Gathering,' nearly 900 citations issued. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/30-arrested-at-rainbow-family-gatherin… This year was the first in Ga. Sounds like the heat took it as a threat and cracked heads whenever and whenever the opportunity arose.

    Six Years Later
Hard to believe no one has posted here in 6 years. I am just wondering if anyone thought as I have about the possibility of Nationals being in the Great Lakes Region this year, as many say is likely. If so it will be relatively close to the Reunion Shows. I'm thinking of doing Seed Camp, then sneaking away for the shows, and heading back home in time for clean up. It would be really nice to put together a caravan of sorts, maybe do a kitchen on the lot, bring some rainbow love like in the old days, ya know? Anyone interested in such an idea please feel free to hit me up! siwikta@yahoo.com Lovin you all! - Daydream

    National Gathering
Hello allMy Friend Flower asked me back in December if I was going to be at the National Gathering in New Mexico this Year when I was in San Diego. I told him yes definately and have no intentions of backing out, however, I am now back in CT and in need of a ride to New Mexico for the Gathering this summer. I do not know if I am going to stay in CT seeing as how after Greensboro, I almost did not come back, however, I decided to make a little money and come back. I will keep you posted if I do not need a ride because the GD bus is coming right past my hometown, but as it stands, I need a ride right now to New Mexico. He said he'd try to get his friend from Maine to pick me up, but just in case, I would like to try to get another plan going. Also, if there are regional gatherings up here, put me in the loop. Contact me here or on hotmail at dan420ct@hotmail.com Thanks and until the 4 winds may blow us all safely home, or back into the woods :)

I'd love to go to a Rainbow gathering
However, I'm a grizzled old guy like Jerry (some say I have almost the same personality) was and would probably be called a Nazi. That sucks - because I really hate Nazis. They're like some super-spoiled Sorority of dorks!!

total eclipse of the sun - 2017
I'm really looking forward to the total eclipse of the sun on August 17, 2017, it will be crossing the whole U.S. Something to look forward to. Should be some good gatherings for that one! Shaking in the garden, the fear within you grows Hear there may be roses to punch you in the nose Twist their arms around you, slap you till you cry Wrap you in their sweet perfume and love you till I die When push comes to shove You're afraid of love

If there's one thing I learned from my work with the Forest Service --- the Family is everywhere! No reason to doubt some Family would be here, too. This is your topic now, OceanRiver! Welcome.

Gathering is happening right now in Newton County, Arkansas, near Fallsville off Highway 16. You can find directions on welcomehome.org. I dropped my hubby off there yesterday, scene was still somewhat small and mellow, but no shortage of Forest Service LEOs. I live in Arkansas and thought I would give a word to the wise: While on the maps Jasper, AR seems like the closest town and best place to get supplies etc, I would not consider this a freak-friendly place. This is the bible belt folks and in Jasper they have a white-knuckle grip. I live in nearby Fayetteville, about 60 miles west of the site (two hour drive due to curvy roads) and definitely consider this a more Rainbow friendly place. It is a college town and has its share of counter culture. BUT, this is still the bible belt folks. Have fun and be careful.

Not all LEOs are assholes, either. Really. I worked with alot of them. Sending the Rainbow family and my Forest Service family lots of positive energy from here that this is a good year. Be gentle to the land, you guys.

agree w/izzie on this one-during nationals '95 (Kit Carson NF, NM) some of the FS were really kind-they helped to keep the peace during conflicts w/some of the locals, & let us know they were impressed after the clean up crew was done-other than the 3 "official" days of the Gathering over the 4th, they weren't really a visable prescence

Sorry to say the Rainbows are not a welcome bunch in these parts. I never gathered with them, so I don't know the whole story. Our media and the law that be, has given them a very bad rap. Crime and littering, are the main issues. Leave no foot prints and peace to all.

I frequent the USA Network Forums (It's just people talking about the shows on USA - like "Law & Order" and "Monk") and in a recent post told everyone there that I've been going nude since I was 14. We had excellent outdoor naked parties in California recently and I even went to Black's Beach . . . the local nude beach in San Diego. http://forums.usanetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=401155 There's the link for the post. I guess since it's a TV channel's forum lots of people will eventually learn about my Nature Boy tendencies. Hey - all I can say is that it's really fun to watch TV and do other houshold routines in the buff. Ever since I read, "The Door Into Summer" by Robert A. Heinlein with the hero that accidentally ends up in a nudist colony in the 70s (Sunnydale) . . . the guy was cool and just adapted to the situation and was no pansy. I just thought the idea was interesting in a Zen Buddhist kinda way. Just thought I'd share that because I think it's very hippie. It's amazing how some people are so inhibited about being nude out in the open . .. when (strictkly speaking) - nudity has nothong to do with sex, drugs, or rock n roll . . . dude. It has to do with getting back to the basics of Nature - which we are incapable of escaping in this life. The forces of Nature surround us and travel through us. We are the voice of the universe . . . second generation star stuff.

It's IS fear - and animals go naked every day. My little kittys who hide under the bed every time there's a thunderstorm go naked everywhere they go . . . they are completely uninhibited. I think if you've never been nude in public it's an obstacle that needs to be overcome . . . and the most religious person CAN do it since (as I said before) . . . nudity has nothing to do with sex, drugs, or rock n roll. You can always wear a fig leaf if you're a White Christian. If you're Black you can wear an African loin cloth. Are we all really THAT ashamed of our anticedents? I like to think that my great-great X 10 grandpa knew what he was doing - he was just limited by the then-present technology. Whatever. Technology kills. -WP (William Parcher)

Hmm, not a lot of folks on here lately it seems. I am glad to see a rainbow forum here, it just feels right. So I guess now there is the topic of New Mexico. Anyone remember the last time we were there? 94 I think? The locals were not too happy. Hopefully we can make up for that this time. Also, anyone have any idea what is up with the "A Gathering of the Tribes" gathering which has been taking place at the same time as nationals for the past 5 years or so? Its obviously family, so I wounder why the split. I mean there have been splits before, in the 90's, like in 93 with the whole Alabama/Kentucky thing. Then there was Zeus! Any one remember him? He really threw some folks through a loop, with "his" gatherings, changing all the road signs and rock piles, leading folks right to his site. One time it was on the sheriffs land! Oh well, love to everyone, no judgment here. But now we have a recurring gathering July 1-7 with the silent circle and everything, in like Missouri or something. It is said that the "A Gathering of the Tribes" was created to "preserve the traditions of the Rainbow Family of Living Light." Now I have not been home in a while, have things gotten that bad? And what happened to all the regionals we used to have in the early 90s. I remember being on trail and going from gathering to gathering, catching tour, then to a gathering, and another gathering. I mean I only came out of the woods for shows, that was pretty much it. I know of a few kind annual regionals that still go on, like Katuha and Cumberland, but those folks certainly don't advertise. I wonder if there are more? I'm not into the blown up scenes like Ocala, which I heard is not even a rainbow gathering anymore, officially speaking anyway. I went to Shawnee back in 2000, that was a bad seen man. Gathering on Native burial ground, people walking around with bones, no vegan food, and a "Jesus Loves You" kitchen interrupting circles with their foul repetitive chanting of the name "Jesus" over and over. It was a non-focalized, non-rainbow gathering. But for every bad one, there are many more good, and much love is needed everywhere, so I was happy to shine my light, even at the men in black with night-vision goggles, who were creeping through the woods taking pictures. Anyway, thats my rant. I love you all and can't wait to get home. See ya all soon. Peace.
