This is an incorrect date. The first St Louis area appearances were 2 performances at the National Guard Armory, May 24 and 25th, 1968. A local group the PUBLIC SERVICE BLUES BAND (not the Iron Butterfly) opened for the Dead both nights. I attended the second performance, on May 25. (Note that the Iron Butterfly was NOT on this bill with them, but on the Feb 6 1969 appearance at Keil Opera House. The Dead opened the concert, based on the toss of a coin. I attended this performance.)

This site and my Deadbase VII, have Jack Straw as the second song of the second set instead. http://www.dead.net/show/september-27-1972 MAMU was played on the 26th, Jack Straw was not. In any case, I'd love to know what the actual set list was, and if the Dick's Picks list is wrong, that probably needs annotated as well.

While listening to GD Radio play-back the Cotterell Gym show from Nov. 4, 1977 Hamilton NY. I was reading the comments posted and picked up that prior show was in Toronto, not Cincinnati. Here is what "Tone Monster" wrote that help me catch this venue mistake. I was the "stage manager" for this show at Colgate. Basically in charge of helping the road crew load and off load. As soon as they got there the head roadie asked me if I could get them any drugs. "Like what ? " I asked. Anything; we just came across the border (from Canada) so we have nothing. I rounded up some pot, uppers and ludes from some dealers I knew who were pleased to be providing the Dead with some recreational diversions. Sat backstage for the whole show but don't remember much so it's great to revisit the set list and peoples comments about the show. Cub Sez: Cheers !

There doesn't seem to be a complete recording of this show, but they closed out the 2nd set with Around and Around (with the Johnny B. Goodish instrumental break in the middle).

Did the dead really play at the Fillmore East and at the Pauley Ballroom in Berkeley on the same day? dead.net show list lists them on the same day. Can we get some clarification? Thanks Brett

I want to know which songs are on what volume of the apparent six volumes. Of course I do have the list for Volume 1 but want Volume 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 song lists. Anybody know where to find this information?

There is an error in the song list. The last but one song is Standing on The Moon, not Stander on the Mountain. DeadBase agrees, so does the cd I've just played of this show.

First set had "It's All Over Now" not "It's All Over Now Baby Blue.

Berkeley set up an event for that Sunday, which cause the (last ever) Greek show to be the Saturday (8/19) epic show which none of us will ever forget (killer Wharf Rat)! So there is a "phantom" show or mirror image of your ticket which was Thurs/17 - do not ever listen to a note of this show. My take is the boys knew that the faithful would not be able to make this show due to last-minute travel changes, and subconsciously or not make it forgettable in the extreme. Honestly, it does not even sound like music. As great as 8/19 was and is, 8/17/89 is "a date which will live in infamy." Conversely, 8/18/89, Friday, was a perfectly good show (and I called the set opener, sang it to myself all the way there on BART - true story). Peace, fellow traveller, and get yo'self a copy of 8/19 (it was on KPFA and elsewhere, so there are good copies circulating. DtM

Nothing wrong with this date but your missing the Bust Benifit the week before, Oct. 22, 1967 at Winterland. The Dead, Big Brother and QSMS. The Dead only did one set because Jerry was indisposed by the new purple acid that made its appearance at this concert.

They really don't care and won't fix it. I wouldn't waste your time. At least that's the impression I get since they've never fixed anything in 5 years. Sorry to be a bummer.

You made me smile, wilfredtjones. They did fix something for me when the site was new. It was the location of my first show on June 17th, '66. The city listed was incorrect. I remember asking if they are going to take my word on it and "yes, they will, at least until someone comes along and says that isn't correct." I still have the handbill. Peace & lots of Music

Spanish jam actually preceded Wharf Rat (in reverse of the order still showing there; though there was a brief bit of Wharf Rat-yness, instrumentally, in the Other One that Spanish jam came from). Documentation: the bonus disc to the 2012 Dave's Picks subscription.

So where's 3-20-91, Capital Centre 3RD night? Best night of the stand! : ) ***UPDATE ~ ok, found it, but it's not wedged between the correct two shows. Pull it up and you'll see what I mean (or pull up 3/18/91...goes to 3/21 as next show instead of this one). If this is the anyone's biggest problem, the world is safe. But just sayin'.

Judging from this comment I guess I'm becoming one of those G-d dang picky deadheads. Many sources have this show being at Brendan Byrne Arena, I've come to discover that the full name was Brendan Byrne Arena at Meadowlands Sports Complex, East Rutherford, NJ. Now there's a corporate name for the place (which can change every year) that screws up our venues listing, but we can deal with it. I like to stick with the venue's original name on more recent live shows. I know you've heard it before, but, Have a Jerry Christmas and a Happy New Weir!!!

There is, indeed, an Ontario, CA. It even has a big airport! However, on 3/21-22/90, the Dead were in Hamilton, ON in Canada.

I was in attendance for the three shows at Nassau Coliseum, which we call the "three days in the saddle."The page for this show can not be brought up from page for the prior show 11/01/1979. It shows the next show as Providence Civic Center - November 4, 1979. For the 11/02/1979 page, the previous show is shown as Cumberland County Civic Center - May 13, 1979 and the next show is shown as Kiel Auditorium - December 9, 1979.

We played the first dance Bill Graham had at the Fillmore and almost nobody knows it. This is a chance to set the record straight. My band, the Vipers, played first that night. We were not on the posters, and in the Chronicle the next day Ralph Gleason referred to us as the VIPs.
