Going? Got reports from previous years? Post here!
i was there last year, saw phil and mickey, then later in the summer saw bob. this will be my first time seeing them get together. They are going to be the highlight of the festival. Got my tickets 2 days ago!!!
Think The Dead will play more then one day/night
during the festival, being it spans several days?
I didn't go to Rothbury last year, but it looks like it has the potential to being a HUGE festival in size and am hoping it draws lots of heads!
Outdoors, summer, 4th of July weekend, with The Dead!
Will be interesting to see how the schedule plays out,, will Dylin be there when the dead are there??,, do we get him to join the boys onstage?? can you say one Frkin awsome WatchTower!!! and lets not forget Donna is only 3 1/2 hours away at Nelson Ledges that weekend,, maybe she will come join in a song or two if asked nice,, I'll drive the Limo to go get her,,,AAAhh,, not a limo,, someone send a copter for her..
Really looking forward to the Rothbury weekend. I was hoping for summer tour options and this is it! Nothing like the great outdoors to hear the Band. Being from Canada, I try to avoid the crazy 4th of July weekend, but I make exceptions! Other than Dylan and the Dead (old standbys) I'm especially looking foward to Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Damian Marley & Nas, Toots, and Dweezil Zappa. Fun! There's also going to be some serious old-school bluegrass for those inclined. Can't wait for the schedule!
We're going to have a good old-fashioned 4-day lot scene by the looks of it, with some youngsters and their DJ music and light-show forest all mixed up into one. I'll keep an eye out for the GD telltale signs so we can gather and sing a few. Should be a trip!

Decisions DECISIONS!!!
Nelsons Ledges> witch is rite down the road from my house, bout 40 min. drive,
OR, Michigan to see the gratest band alive on the face of this earth & Bob Dylan whom I really love!!!
Decisions, decisions.............
Could anyone that went last year shed some light on the camping situation at Rothbury?
Is the "Good Life" camping area worth the extra dough? I was looking at the Maplewoods Good Life package.
Looking at the website it looks like the regular camping area could be a distance from where the stages are versus the Maplewoods location. Is this accurate?
Any other pros/cons regarding camping to be aware of, besides the price difference?
Thanks for any insight provided in advance.
I am soooo STOKED that The Dead is going to make an outdoor showing this summer!!!
for great info., and insight to the festival past and present....check it here:

We attended last year's Rothbury Festival and it was an absolutely an amazing experience. We camped in the "regular" RV camping area and had no problems, a great time as a matter of fact. Plenty of porta johns, not too much walking distance (just wear comfy shoes...we had merrells'!!!) The festival was "WELL DONE" in every way and I can't think of anything I would do differently. We are super stoked The Dead are playing Rothbury 2009 ......and two nights of The Dead?....I second that emotion!!!!
This line-up looks great and with The Dead at the top of the bill, it will not disappoint. From what I've heard all the stages are pretty close to the campgrounds so it shouldn't be a terrible walk. I've also heard that the packages are a great deal. I have yet to hear anything negative about this festival. Look forward to seeing everyone at Rothbury and any other Dead shows.
It's really what you can afford. Me personally, I don't mind camping outside of a car/truck/etc. I love the atmosphere. If you have kids there are special places you can park too. It's all set up to be as kind to everyone as humanly possible. What experience do you want, and what can you afford?
Me, I'd rather have the extra dough for other the food, drink, toys, and road trips!
